Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Andrade has been released by WWE. Thoughts?
This was seemingly out of nowhere, but he wasn’t being used often, plus he just recently divorced Charlotte Flair. Flair is among the top stars of WWE, so that has to figure in somewhere, although WWE would deny that. Most likely, in my opinion, that’s probably the biggest reason for this release. We’ll just have to watch and see what happens. There is more to this, though, than anyone is admitting to.
Ludwig Kaiser posted a picture of himself standing next to El Grande Americano on Instagram as proof that he is not El Grande Americano. If it’s not Kaiser, then who is under that mask?
And now we have proof, right? Kaiser is NOT El Grande Americano. So, who is? Scotty Riggs, maybe? After all, he was an American Male. Jim Duggan? Didn’t he chant USA all the time? All we know now is that El Grande Americano is NOT Ludwig Kaiser. Hell, Kaiser isn’t even American.
CM Punk has been announced as part of the upcoming WWE tour and SuperShow in Japan. Thoughts?
CM Punk has turned into the model WWE top guy since his return to WWE, and he’s getting a trip to Japan as a result. Good for him.
Do you think Logan Paul will be part of the Japanese tour?
This will be the interesting thing, given Paul’s history in Japan and his unofficial ban from the country. This tour is the best opportunity Paul has to apologize and mend fences with the Japanese government and people. If Paul is allowed on this tour, I’m sure he’ll be on extra-good behavior and super-probation during the visit. I think WWE will push for him to be there as part of their events.
Why was David Sammartino never a big star?
David wasn’t a good talker, wasn’t much of an in-ring performer, and wasn’t his father. In a world of second-generation talents, David Sammartino was more of a David Flair than a Charlotte. He didn’t have what it takes to escape his father’s shadow, and it was obvious.
Psycho Clown and Pagano, the AAA World Tag Team champions, were attacked and laid out by the Wyatt Sicks at Worlds Collide. Thoughts?
A cross-promotional battle between the resident crazies of both the AAA and SmackDown. That looks like money to me, and it should be exciting and fun to see.
Would you like to see Charlotte Flair take time off to start a family, or should she continue her in-ring career without a break?
Charlotte isn’t getting any younger, and if she does get pregnant, she should do what’s best for herself and act accordingly. Enjoy the wrestling and the success, but if fate strikes, pull a Naomi and step away. Charlotte should just be and do Charlotte. ‘Nuff said!
Should WWE let Jey Uso’s new aggressive side eventually lead to a full heel turn?
The merch is still selling well, and Jey is still having great crowd reactions, but the act is growing stale. Let Jey and the character evolve as needed, and if it leads to a heel Uso, maybe with a Bloodline all his own, just do it. YEET!
Could you imagine a world where The Undertaker’s character never existed?
If the Undertaker hadn’t been there, someone else would have been. Taker was the right character at the right time, and it worked. But if he hadn’t been created and used correctly, maybe it would have been Sid Vicious, Mantaur, or Al Perez instead. Yeah, I can imagine a world without The Undertaker. I’m just glad I don’t have to.
Would you like to see Bianca Belair compete in the UFC one day?
Bianca has the size and the look, but as CM Punk proved many years ago, it takes far more than that. If Bianca is properly trained and wants to try MMA and UFC, that’s up to her. And based on who she is, I’d pay attention, at least at first. That’s her call, though, and not ours.
Jillian Hall denies that her WWE singing gimmick was to mock Brooke Hogan. Do you think WWE missed out by not pushing Jillian Hall as a serious in-ring competitor? Thoughts?
I liked Jillian, and whatever the reason for that character, it made her stand out, and she managed to make it work. Would she have worked better as a serious wrestler? Possibly, but most likely, she would have been lost in the shuffle and forgotten rather quickly. IfJillian had been a serious wrestler, would we still be talking about her now? I doubt it.
The WWE is building a new Performance Center. Thoughts?
The WWE, and NXT for that matter, has grown and continues to expand. They’re outgrowing the original PC and are making the necessary adjustments and moves. It’s not a surprise and makes sense.
