Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Has there been any talk of using Layla El or Michelle McCool as WWE Producers?
A producer helps wrestlers and puts matches together. The only wrestler McCool helps is Undertaker, and I don’t think it’s with his matches or promos. Layla and McCool were a competent tag team for the Divas era, but I just can’t see them training, producing, or working any serious roles backstage.
Shayna Baszler made an appearance during NXT Homecoming. Do you think she’ll be back full-time in WWE?
I don’t know, but I hope so. She’s too good for WWE to ignore or let get away.
Bret Hart and Goldberg should talk and then do a podcast together. Agree or disagree?
I would love to hear that podcast. But I just can’t see it. Disagree.
Kiera Hogan is gone from AEW and has been removed from the roster. Thoughts?
I had forgotten she was even with AEW, and she’s allegedly been there for five years. I remember her from TNA. So, she’s been in AEW, and now she’s not. I’ll update my notes.
Lesnar versus Cena is scheduled to be the opening match for WrestlePalooza. Right call, or should it be the main event?
It’s the right call to start the event off with a good match. Punk & AJ versus Seth & Becky is the scheduled main event, and that is exactly as it should be since that’s the match most are coming to see.
During a recent interview, Cody Rhodes suggested that possibly he, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins would all be strong contenders to eventually run WWE if Triple H moved on.
Cody has some experience in management from AEW, plus he grew up with Dusty Rhodes. I have no doubts he’d be considered. Punk sat under the learning tree of Heyman for a long time, and his passion for the business is second to none, so I can see him there as well. And Seth? Sure, why not? All three men are intelligent, creative, and know the business, so any of them could be an option if needed.
Joe Hendry is allegedly being phased out of TNA and is expected to sign full-time with WWE at the start of 2026. Thoughts?
And until that move, he can perform for both TNA and WWE. Works for me. I believe!
Ahead of WWE Wrestlepalooza, ESPN executives were asked whether or not AEW All Out taking place on the same day factored into their scheduling decision. And of course, they said no. Thoughts?
What do you expect them to say? It’s just a coincidence, and nothing more. We all know that executives never lie, right?
Do you agree with Bret Hart that Triple H never had a truly great match, or is Big Vito right to call him out for cashing WWE checks while still being critical?
Hunter never had a great match, but he was consistent, and the matches were usually strong, but not great. So, Bret is right about that. Whether Vito was right or not, I can’t say. But, so long as Bret continues to get paid by WWE, he does come across as a hypocrite. That is very true as well.
Mark Shapiro says The Rock’s Smashing Machine will spark a new era of wrestling films/ What wrestling topics would make good movies? What wrestling stars would do well in Hollywood?
Movies that I want to see would be a biography of Johnny Weaver and Penny Banner, wrestling’s first power couple. A biography based on Mae Young could be fun, and I want a cop/buddy movie with The Miz and Stone Cold. Wrestlers who would do well in Hollywood? The Miz. Bo Dallas. Dominik Mysterio. Rhea Ripley. All those names instantly come to mind.
