Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Brock laid out Corey Graves with two F-5s on SmackDown. Do you think we’ll eventually get a Brock versus Graves match at a future event?
Much like Pat McAfee left the announce table to fight Gunther a few months ago, I can easily see Graves, who has been medically cleared for a return to the ring for a couple of years now, step up and challenge Brock to a fight. It’s a good story, good TV, and given the rumored good relationship with Graves and Brock, would be relatively safe while allowing Graves one last match. I’d like to see this happen.
Orange Cassidy has allegedly been cleared to return to action in AEW. Thoughts?
Break out the champagne or orange juice. He’s scheduled to be at Dynamite on Wednesday night.
What’s your take on WWE switching up the MFT stable a bit? Do you think they could be booked more effectively?
To be honest, I had forgotten them that quickly. There were rumors of a feud with the Wyatt Sicks, but now, the stories are about doing something with Solo, and the rest of the group? Who knows? They’re an impressive-looking group and could definitely be used much better.
Is Cody Rhodes moving on from Drew McIntyre, or are they gonna run it back again? If not, who will be Cody’s next opponent?
With Drew, you never know. The referee’s calls at the end have left wiggle-room for Drew to have an argument for a rematch and for this to continue. I’d like to see it go on for a bit longer and let Drew have a good run with the WWE title. Cody is getting stale. And if Cody gets by Drew, for the next opponent, since a tour of Japan is coming up, complete with a super-show event, I’d go with Shinsuke Nakamura.
Tony Khan is scheduled to make an important announcement on this Wednesday’s Dynamite. What do you think it will be?
He’ll announce that everything is going great and that AEW has some fresh new stars coming in for the biggest match ever in the history of professional wrestling, as Marko Stunt will be returning to fight Orange Cassidy. And Mercedes Mone will be given a trophy for being the GOAT of professional wrestling. Or something like that.
Is Mark Briscoe a future AEW World Champion?
Briscoe has the talent and charisma, but I’m just not seeing it. In nearly two years with AEW, he’s won what? One major singles match? Things might be changing, but I see Briscoe as always the contender, and never the champion.
Beth Phoenix made her AEW debut, and FTR laid her out with a spiked piledriver. Thoughts?
It was good to see Beth finally getting some in-ring action. She was in her wrestling gear, so she was dressed out to stand around backstage watching her husband’s match as just a fan? Lazy booking! But AEW finally has a woman wrestler who can wrestle and is a star. Let’s see now what they do with her.
Chelsea Green’s Secret Hervice is searching for a new member. Who would you suggest?
Allegedly, Piper Niven suffered an injury when she defeated Charlotte a few weeks ago. The nature of the injury hasn’t been revealed, but she’s out of action for a while. Or maybe she’s being punished for Nikki Bella’s boob implant injury? Who knows? But while she’s gone, Chelsea Green has an opening in the Secret Hervice. Who should fill the spot? Ivy Nile seems to have vanished on RAW, so she’s a possibility. She has the right aura and look. Jaida Parker, from NXT and Evolve, could fill that role, and there is always Tamina Snuka.
In a recent podcast interview, Rey Mysterio says that Dominik Mysterio can no longer use the name Mysterio since he doesn’t wear a mask. Thoughts?
Dom wears a mask sometimes, so that argument doesn’t really float. The Dead Beat dad is just pushing the buttons and setting up a feud with the current WWE Intercontinental/ AAA Mega Champion to set up a feud for the AAA events, hopefully leading to a match at WrestleMania. Rey versus Dom is proven money, and a good feud can build to Rey’s retirement and Dom’s face turn. I think that is where all this is headed. At least I hope so.
Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy, Marko Stunt) versus The Dancing Fools (Disco Inferno, Alex Wright, Toyoko Magnum). Who wins?
This team right here.
