Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Matt Cardona says that he and Chelsea Green could beat all of WWE’s other power couples. Thoughts?
Matt is always ready, and Chelsea is consistently one of the most entertaining talents in WWE so I wouldn’t bet against them. Matt & Chelsea versus Punk & AJ Lee, or versus Seth & Becky? Admit it. You’d watch.
Ash by Elegance, aka Dana Brooke, vacated the TNA Knockouts Championship and is stepping away from in-ring action. Thoughts?
That was a surprise, and it sounded, at least to me, permanent. I haven’t heard any announcement saying why, but I expect we’ll find out sometime in the next few days. I hope it’s nothing bad, and hopefully, maybe a Naomi-like purpose. Yeah, this was an absolute surprise and shocker.
The Rock recently spoke about rumors of a future Presidential run and didn’t rule it out. Would you support a #TheRock 2028 campaign?
While the Rock is a good wrestler and entertaining actor, I have no idea how he would be as a leader or politician. I would need far more information before making such a big decision. I’d have to know his opinions, alliances, and what we do or don’t agree on before giving him, or anyone for that matter, my support.
What do you think about Bryan Danielson joining the AEW commentary team?
Bryan Danielson was an exceptional wrestler. But, based on the past few weeks, commentary is not his strong suit. In small doses, he’s tolerable, but in a world full of people like Jim Ross, Joey Styles, Gordon Solie, or Corey Graves, he’s more of a Mike Adamle or David Crockett. ‘Nuff said.
You’re doing an Elimination Chamber match with one non-main-event wrestler from WWE, NXT, TNA, AAA, AEW, and ROH. What wrestlers are you choosing, and who wins?
From WWE, I’d use Jacob Fatu. My NXT representative would be Oba Femi. TNA? How about Nic Nemeth? AAA would be El Hijo del Vikingo. From AEW, I’d have Claudio Castagnoli. And finally, ROH would be represented by Sammy Guevara. And the winner? Claudio Castagnoli.
Do you consider Hulk Hogan a racist?
I think Hogan said some stupid things sometimes, and wasn’t always a good person, but I also think his opinions on others were based mostly on their characters, actions, and how they interacted with him, be it personally or professionally, rather than skin color. In other words, Hogan could be an ass. He did some dumb stuff and said some dumb stuff. But, honestly, who hasn’t? Hogan was human. I don’t think race truly mattered to him. It’s the person and the character, not the skin color. I might be wrong, but that’s how I see it.
Do you think WWE should utilize Akira Tozawa more effectively?
Akira seems like a great guy, and he’s a decent worker when given a chance, but Akira is also 150 lbs soaking wet and is about as physically intimidating as a bag of grapes. He’s lucky to have a job in WWE.
Teddy Long says that he was hoping John Cena’s final opponent would be Stone Cold Steve Austin. Thoughts?
It’s a nice fantasy dream match, but seriously? No, I can’t see it, and Teddy is just throwing stuff out there. I doubt this was serious.
One group has to go: The nWo, The Hart Foundation, DX, or the Nation of Domination. Which one and why?
My gut reaction was The Nation, but if they were gone, we wouldn’t have The Rock. The nWo was too big in the Monday Night Wars era for WCW to ignore, and DX was the WWE’s counter-attack to the nWo. So, that leaves the Hart Foundation. All of the members of the Hart Foundation had strong careers both before and after the Hart Family reunion was used. It wasn’t groundbreaking or significant in the big picture of things. It was a nice moment in time for all things Hart, but compared to the others, the historical factor and importance just isn’t there.
Dusty Rhodes versus Larry Zbyszko in a Baby Doll on a pole match. Who wins?
Dusty wins the match, but Baby Doll turns on him the following week on TBS, showing that it was a swerve, and her alliance was to the Living Legend all along, and they were setting Dusty up for something bigger because that’s what bad guys do.
