Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Should WWE crown a new champion quickly, or let the title sit until Seth Rollins is cleared to return?
If Seth can’t wrestle or defend the title, then a new champion should be crowned. RAW needs a champion.
Andrade has been pulled from AEW TV because, allegedly, there is a 90-day no-compete clause from WWE. Thoughts? Should Andrade take WWE to court over this mess?
Things have really exploded since this question was asked, right? It’s not 90 days but potentially a year of no-compete madness. This clause has allegedly been in the WWE contracts for a while. If it’s a normal release, you have the 90-day deal, and it’s no big deal. But a termination with cause, like violations of the Wellness policy, not showing up for work, being unreachable when the company tries to contact you, etc., all have this up to a year deal. Andrade immediately showed up on AEW television, and thus, the clause was invoked. Is it legal? Probably not, but can someone like Andrade afford to fight the WWE/TKO legal machine? If he did fight, it would be at least 6-8 months tied up in litigation, and by that time, the non-compete clause would be nearly over. The bottom line is read the contract before you sign. And Andrade is screwed.
Do you think AJ Styles should retire at WrestleMania or go out with a personal match on his own terms?
I’ve heard there are plans for AJ to have a retirement tour similar to what Cena is doing now. If that’s the case, I hope AJ’s tour goes better than Cena’s did. And I hope a few TNA dates are included. WrestleMania would be great, but I’d rather see Styles wrap it up at a TNA Bound for Glory PPV. It just seems more appropriate.
Should Chris Jericho finish his career in WWE or stay loyal to AEW?
My opinion is that Jericho has done everything he can with AEW, so the next step should be one last run in WWE, wrapping it up with a WWE Hall of Fame induction.
Should WWE give Alberto Del Rio another full-time run, or has his time passed?
I’ve commented on this many times before. Del Rio is history and should remain so. Bye, Felica.
People who only watch WWE have no idea what real pro wrestling is. Yes or no?
I’ve been lucky enough to regularly watch wrestling for over fifty years, including the territories, the AWA, NWA, WCW, WWF, WWE, TNA, AEW, ECW, New Japan, and several hundred Indy shows, so I think I know what real pro wrestling is. And what is real pro wrestling? It’s totally subjective, and what I enjoy, others may not. But it’s ALL wrestling. So, to answer that question, WWE fans know what wrestling is, as do AEW fans, Indy fans, and even the clowns on X. Is it good wrestling? As I said, that’s an opinion, but it’s still all wrestling, the greatest entertainment ever.
What’s your take on Maria Kanellis’ future in pro wrestling? Which company should pick her up next?
Maria had a ton of potential back in the day, but injuries and babies seem to have sidelined any consistent career. I doubt we’ll ever see her back with any of the major promotions.
What’s your take on AEW possibly building its own Performance Center?
Seemingly, there was talk of building one in Asheville, NC, with FTR, Adam Copeland, and Beth Phoenix potentially as the trainers, but it was deemed too expensive, and those plans were shelved. A training center or even a developmental-style deal with a company like OVW would work wonders for the talent in AEW, and help them improve. It’s a great idea if the right people are in charge. Yes, it will cost money, but the benefits for AEW would be worth it.
Vince McMahon just scored a big win in court. A Stamford judge granted him entry into an accelerated pretrial rehab program — meaning if he stays out of trouble, donates $1,000 to charity, and drives lawfully, his reckless driving charges will be tossed by Oct. 2026. Thoughts?
It must be nice to have money and influence.
If you had to take a week-long road trip with either Jamie Dundee, Justin Credible, or Hannibal, who would you be traveling with?
Hannibal is such a moron, I’d leave him on the side of the highway within the first thirty minutes of the trip. Credible would be trying to scam me, steal my wallet, and I’d end up shooting his crooked, criminal ass. Jamie is wild, but he reminds me of a few people I knew back in the day. It’d be an adventure and I’d end up with stories to tell for years, but it would probably be worth it. Jamie Dundee, it is.
