Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray Cyrus. Are you ready? Let’s do this. Happy Halloween.
Do you think Vince McMahon will be at John Cena’s last match?
I hope not, and if he is there, I hope he stays backstage. Much like President Trump, if Vince shows up at the show, he’ll be a major distraction and take away from John Cena’s big moment. Give Cena his moment, and Vince should stay at home. Trump too.
Chris Jericho recently shared photos taken with his former Best Friend, Kevin Owens, at an NHL game. Would you like to see Owens and Jericho reunited on WWE TV if Jericho returns to WWE?
At some point, yes. The chemistry is too good to be ignored.
Do you think Becky Lynch’s championship reign is the best ever?
There have only been two WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champions, Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria. I’m more entertained by Becky, so that makes this choice easy. Yes.
Do you think the Hardys should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame sooner rather than later?
Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express and Demolition should be inducted first, but yes, Matt & Jeff should be inducted within the next 2-3 years.
Vince Russo recently did a video with Maven talking about which wrestlers were nice, and who wasn’t? When asked about Jim Cornette, Russo was extremely complimentary. Thoughts?
Either Russo is more forgiving than any person on Earth, or he’s trying to flip the script and catch Cornette off guard, and take some of the heat from Cornette’s usual jabs and disdain. I can’t wait to hear Cornette’s reaction to Russo’s comments. It should be epic.
Steph De Lander and Mance Warner have officially signed multi-year deals with TNA Wrestling, ending lengthy stretches in which they worked on a per-appearance basis. Thoughts?
Congratulations on both the marriage and the new contracts. Both are talented performers, and it seems they’re off to a good start. Good for them.
Billy Gunn versus LA Knight. Who wins?
This would be an excellent match. Not a main event, but a solid upper mid-card event. Billy is always impressive and a true ass-man, but I think Knight is the better wrestler. LA Knight with the win. YEAH!
Do you think WWE needs a younger creative team to stay relevant?
The best creative team should be a mixture of older veterans and younger, fresher minds blending together with new ideas, but the older guidance to keep it from going off the rails and making sense. New keeps it fresh, but old keeps it sensible. And a combination gives us both.
Do you believe WWE actually tried to bring Dave Meltzer into their creative team? Meltzer says they did. Thoughts?
Meltzer says a lot of things, but that only means he believes it, and not that it’s true. Someone from WWE most likely told him that WWE was interested, as a rib to see if he believed them, and despite the absurdity, Meltzer took the bait. I think I have a better shot at joining the WWE creative teams than Meltzer ever would, and we all know that isn’t happening. In the words of Bugs Bunny, “What a maroon!”.
