Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray Cyrus. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Who from WWE and AEW needs to win a title in 2026?
For WWE/NXT, Carmelo needs to do something soon. And both Raquel Rodriguez and Grayson Waller are due singles gold sooner rather than later. As for AEW, who doesn’t have a belt already? Between AEW and ROH, there are over twenty titles available. So, who needs a belt? Claudio maybe?
Giulia is now the longest reigning WWE Women’s US Champion, surpassing Chelsea Green’s reign. She has 2 title defenses. Thoughts?
Is there nothing to think about? As of last night on SmackDown, Chelsea Green is the new US Champion, and she won it in less than two minutes. I don’t know what WWE is doing with Giulia, and it seems that they don’t either. They rushed her to a title and then forgot about her, and now Chelsea is the champion. Giulia must have made someone in management very upset or pissed off. This is crazy.
According to Meltzer, Jesse Ventura’s contract with WWE has expired, and he will no longer be on SNME. Thoughts?
I addressed this yesterday. It sucks for Jesse, but he didn’t seem capable of holding up his job responsibilities. Those comments about the cage match sealed his fate. Hopefully, he got a nice paycheck from this run.
Would you like to see Alicia Fox make a return to WWE or NXT?
I always liked Alicia, so yeah, bring her back for a few matches.
TNA is looking for Mr. Elegance, a talent search for that right guy to get a one-year TNA contract and become part of the Elegance faction. Thoughts?
I’m sure that someone has already been picked and is getting ready, much like when Tully Blanchard searched for his Perfect 10 and brought in Baby Doll. I’d love to see local wrestler Sammy Love get the spot. Or maybe Alan Angels. It should be interesting to see who they bring in for this spot.
Dick Slater versus Jon Moxley. Who wins?
This would be a fun match, most likely with plenty of blood involved. And the winner? Dick Slater, of course.
Drew McIntyre is suspended after attacking Cody and giving a referee a Claymore. Thoughts?
Doesn’t Drew have a movie role with Batista coming up? This takes him off television to film his movie, and then he can return when available to jump right back into a feud with Cody. Works for me. Actually, when Drew returns from his suspension, I’d love to see Drew versus Nick Aldis, maybe at the Royal Rumble or even at SNME in Washington, DC. The story is writing itself, and that would be an incredible match.
Lash Legend has been moved to the main roster, SmackDown, as an associate of Nia Jax. Thoughts?
So, much as she did with Alexa and Tiffany, Nia has another new talent to mentor and help adjust to the main roster, and hopefully, a great future. It’s a system that works, and Legend is certainly a talented performer who has a ton of potential. I like this pairing of Lash and Nia.
Should Nick Aldis be a full-time wrestler in the WWE?
I like Nick as the GM, and he’s doing an excellent job in that role, but I also think he’s got plenty left in the tank as an active wrestler. If he went to that role, he’d probably get lost in the shuffle since the WWE is so packed right now, but the GM who takes the occasional match would be excellent. I want to see Nick wrestle, but I also want Nick to continue as the General Manager for SmackDown.
Chris Van Vliet and his Insight podcast have joined Westwood One and the Cumulus Podcast Network. Thoughts?
Congratulations to Van Vliet. This is a big move and more continued success for an excellent interviewer/journalist. But, wasn’t Westwood One involved in the Kast Media lawsuit filed by Jim Cornette and Brian Last against the known Weasel Colin Thomson? I hope this all works out well for Van Vliet, and also that his lawyers have gone over every detail and inch of the small print in the contracts. Van Vliet is an excellent interviewer, one of the best, and deserves every ounce of success he gets.
