Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray Cyrus. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Matt Cardona wrestled on SmackDown, but used the name Zack Ryder. Thoughts?
It was a happy surprise to see Matt Cardona show up on SmackDown. I understand using the Zack Ryder name since the casual WWE fans, who don’t follow the Indies, would recognize the WWE name quicker than they would Matt Cardona. Cardona hasn’t signed a deal with WWE as a wrestler, but did sign a merchandise deal. This was a one-shot, but it made an impact and was a great surprise for the fans. He’s always ready and has once again shown that he’s the original Joe Hendy. Say his name and, regardless of the promotion, he appears. Woo woo woo – you know it.
The Vision has added Drew McIntyre to their War Games team. Team Punk has added Jimmy Uso. So, who will be the fifth man on each team?
My Magic 8-Ball says that The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, will be the fifth man for Team Punk. As for Team Vision, Heyman has an ace in the hole, and his name is Brock Lesnar.
Charlotte Flair has walked out, leaving Team Rhea with only three members. Team Asuka has four. Who will be added to each team for War Games to round it up to five members?
Again, I consult the Magic 8-Ball. For Team Rhea, how about Tiffany Stratton and the returning Bianca Belair? As for Team Asuka, let’s go with a loan from Judgment Day, and her name is Raquel Rodriguez.
Can John Cena be called the greatest of all time?
He can be called the GOAT, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true. I can be called a sexy stud, but… oh wait, that’s true. I don’t get any complaints anyhow. But yeah, in some opinions, Cena is the GOAT. Others would say Flair, or Bret, or Harley Race, or maybe even James Ellsworth. It’s just an opinion, and everyone has one.
Is Logan Paul better than everyone in AEW?
This is just a matter of opinion, but in terms of promotion, in-ring ability, promos, and general heat, he’s definitely better than the vast majority of the AEW roster.
Tessa Blanchard was pulled from her match at TNA Turning Point for not being medically cleared. Thoughts?
Tessa has been in and out of action for quite a while, and I’m curious as to why. I expect we’ll hear more later, but I hope it’s not anything serious. Best wishes to Tessa for a speedy and painless recovery.
Mercedes Moné defeated Nor “Phoenix” Diana to win the APAC Women’s Championship! 13 Belts Moné is in effect! Thoughts?
What is APAC? Aren’t they the company where Wile E. Coyote buys all his wonderful toys? At this point, the bloom is off the rose, and these wins are about as meaningless as the titles she’s winning. I just wonder when she’s going to defend the belts or start dropping them? Hint: She won’t/
Bob Caudle passed away last night, at the age of 95. Thoughts?
This news actually made me cry. Bob Caudle, the voice of Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling for so many years, was an icon, a legend, and from everything I’ve ever heard, a good man. Every Saturday night, he was part of my childhood, calling the action on WRAL. He meant so much to Crockett, and then to Smokey Mountain Wrestling, just casual, professional, and allowing the spotlight to focus on the talent, the wrestlers. I’ve been a fan for fifty-five years, and I’ve never heard anyone say a bad word about Bob Caudle. But at age 95, I guess he was out of time, and so long for now. Condolences to the family, friends, and fans of this amazing man. Bob Caudle, RIP!
Rikishi recently said that he believes Al Snow should replace Road Dogg as the lead writer for SmackDown. He also believes Al Snow belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame. Thoughts?
The WWE Hall of Fame? I can see that. Head of the SmackDown creative team? Al is the former owner of OVW, so I could easily see him as part of the WWE Creative team at some point. But the lead writer? Nah, I don’t think so.
The perfect last match for John Cena. How about Alex Riley? Thoughts?
While I’d love to see it just for the real-life issues between Cena and Riley, let’s pass on that one. I remember seeing Riley’s match with the NWA a couple of years ago, his big return, and he worked once and never returned. The match would suck. And besides, I’m still expecting to see Gunther in that final match against Cena.
