Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray Cyrus. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
The Young Bucks named their AEW Mt. Rushmore, listing themselves, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, and Hangman Adam Page. Who would be on your AEW Mt. Rushmore?
I don’t know if I even have a Mt. Rushmore for AEW, but I’ll try. Chris Jericho, Sting, Bryan Danielson, and Dr. Britt Baker.
Mark Henry says Joe Hendry should come to the ring after John Cena’s last match & lie down for him & get pinned right away. “Have Joe Hendry lay down on the ground on his back & tell John Cena cover me so I could have a match with u & u beat me on my record.” Thoughts?
It’s a nice idea, and if Henry suggested it to WWE instead of spreading it all over the internet, I could see WWE doing something like this, to get a big pop, put over Hendry, etc. But now that it’s out here for us to talk about, it’s a spoiled product. I like the idea, though.
Before TV was a big thing, fans listened to wrestling on the radio. Have you ever listened to a wrestling event on the radio?
I never listened to wrestling on the radio, but I did watch the WCW and early TNA PPVs by switching the TV to the PPV channels and listening to the announcers call the event. That’s pretty much the same, right?
Kayden Carter says that she and Katana Chance were ‘Set up to fail’ in WWE. Thoughts?
They were given the same directions and instructions as the other wrestlers, with the same restrictions and burdens. Some wrestlers thrived and made it. They didn’t. Making claims like these is simply making excuses, nothing more.
According to Shelly Martinez, there were plans for a New Brood in WWE’s version of ECW, consisting of her, Gangrel, Kevin Thorn, and Jimmy Wang Yang, but the plans were scrapped, and everyone else was released. Would this gimmick have worked? Thoughts?
It would have been an interesting faction, and given what was on WWE at the time, especially on their ECW show, it may have worked for a while. But I can’t see any long-term situation where this group would have lasted or worked for long. I’m a fan of everyone mentioned, but this would have been more of a group like the Social Outcasts than the Brood once all the smoke settled.
Do you think Big Justice has what it takes to become AEW’s breakout star of the future?
Who? Oh yeah, the guy who hangs out with QT Marshall and does YouTube or something of that nature. Not all YouTubers are Logan Paul. Is this a breakout star? No, I don’t think so.
Do you want to see an AEW training facility one day? Should AEW invest in a dedicated wrestling school?
They need to do something. Right now, there is no place for the talent to work and improve except for on television or at big events, and that’s not working very well. A training facility, as has been spoken of, with competent trainers and opportunities to improve away from the spotlight, could improve the current product so much. AEW has talented wrestlers, but right now, they’re left on their own to practice and train, and that doesn’t work very well. A dedicated school is a must.
The Undertaker’s podcast, Six Feet Under. Is it better or worse since WWE took over?
It used to be Undertaker and his pals trading stories and trying to entertain us. Now, it’s the Michelle McCool show. It’s definitely worse.
Survivor Series Match: Battle of the Giants. The Great Khali, Andre the Giant, Sid Vicious, and Kane versus The Undertaker, El Gigante, The Big Show, and Kevin Nash. Who wins?
This one is hard because there are some studs on both teams, and there are some major duds on each team as well. The latter team, with Undertaker, Gigante, Big Show, and Nash, has more studs. They’ll win.
AJ Lee and Becky Lynch are officially in WarGames! Thoughts?
I think we all knew AJ was going to be the final member of Team Rhea. Did I predict Becky for Team Asuka? I can’t remember. But two solid picks, and now the hastily thrown-together Women’s War Games match is ready to go. Now, we just wait for next Saturday and the Survivor Series.
