Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray Cyrus. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Tony Khan recently stated that MSG reached out to him to host the first episode of AEW Dynamite, but later rescinded the offer because it would upset someone. Thoughts?
This is a good story. I don’t believe it’s true because why would Madison Square Garden risk a long relationship with WWE to present a brand new show with no history, track record, or experience? AEW had nothing but a few names and was essentially just an idea and some wishful thinking. Someone may have suggested it as a joke to Tony, but I doubt this actually happened in any true or serious form.
Brad Maddox recently confirmed in an interview that he’s a sex addict. Thoughts?
That makes sense given his past, but what does that have to do with wrestling, or 2025 for that matter? And why is this big news coming across my timeline? Brad is just speaking to get attention and be semi-relevant. This is not news.
Tessa Blanchard says she’s never been racist, and is tired of ‘being used as clickbait’. Thoughts?
People love controversy and scandal, and the incidents from over a decade ago provide that taste of scandal for them. Tessa is a talented wrestler, and the ladies of TNA don’t seem to mind working with her. It’s time for these allegations to stop.
What do you think of Jim Cornette refusing WWE work over ties to Donald Trump?
I think this means we won’t be seeing the Midnight Express inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame anytime soon. Jim is a legend and wrestling historian, but that Trump Derangement Syndrome hits hard sometimes. But it’s Jim’s choice, and he’s allowed to do whatever he feels is best. I don’t like it, but that’s Cornette.
Do you think Drew McIntyre has what it takes to finally dethrone Cody Rhodes and become WWE Champion?
Yeppers, I do. It’s time for Drew to have a long run as the WWE Champion.
Would you want to see Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler reunite on commentary for one last match?
I’d like to see it, but I kind of dread the thought, given Lawler and Ross’s health over the past few years. I doubt it would be fun to listen to, andmight damage the memories we have of JR and The King from days past. Even with a solid third-party to lead the commentary and help the two legends along, it wouldn’t be what it was. I’d hate to see them pull a Flair and damage their legacies. It’d make for a good photo-op, but a little more than that.
Ron Simmons & Nailz versus Wahoo McDaniel & Yokozuna. Who wins?
Historical note: Nailz and Simmons actually teamed together at a WWE event in Japan. I don’t think Wahoo and Yoko ever even met. This match? I’d go with the chops of Wahoo, plus the size of Yoko, for the upset win.
