Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray Cyrus. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Merry Christmas to everyone from all of us here at the DougMaynard.com family, aka me, Ma, my cat, the Straybies, and Sparky.

Which talent do you want to see TNA sign in 2026?

I’d love to see Alan Angels and KJ Orso be hired and featured strongly by TNA, as well as Danhausen, Sammy Love, and Chris Masters.

What do you think of Je’Von Evans’ rapid rise in WWE? Could he be the next breakout star?

Evans is on the fast track, and he’s got the talent for sure. He’s good, and I can see a big future ahead of him, but I worry that he’s getting too much too soon. Is he ready for the big push and the baggage that comes with it? Too much too soon, and can he handle the pressure? Can his body handle the strain? Will he have a long career, or will there be burnout? Evans has the “It” factor and aura going for him, but will he thrive, or will it end up overwhelming him in the end? We’ll just have to watch and see.

What do you think of Logan Paul and Paul Heyman’s alliance? Is Heyman the key to Logan’s long-term success in WWE?

Having Heyman with Paul is the icing on the cake. Logan was doing well, but having Heyman there to prevent the natural ego from making mistakes just makes him better. It’s a good thing and adds to the Logan Paul aura.

Should Jerry Lawler wrestle one last time?

No, he shouldn’t. Lawler has suffered several strokes and isn’t going to be able to do everything he used to do. Lawler’s reputation is intact, and he’s remembered mainly in a favorable sense. There is no need for Flair’s Last Match to be attached to Lawler’s legacy. He deserves better.

Do you want to see Roman Reigns win the Royal Rumble next year, or should it go to somebody else?

Roman doesn’t need the Rumble anymore. He’s past that and is established as a main event talent. Let someone else have the moment and get the win at the Royal Rumble.

Chris Masters versus Austin Theory. Who wins?

These guys are so similar in many ways. This would be an epic match. And it could go either way, depending on the match, the location, the story, etc. Ihave no idea who would win a house-show match somewhere without management looking on. Let’s flip a coin. Heads for Masters and tails for Theory. Tails it is, so Theory wins.

If you were able to book and promote a show for any arena in the world, what venue would you choose?

It’s not the biggest arena, and the crowd probably wouldn’t adhere to WWE or AEW standards, but the legendary Dorton Arena, in Raleigh, NC, would be my choice. I attended dozens of shows there as a child, and the aura, the magic of that location, stands out. Raleigh is a great wrestling city, and The Dorton Arena is a classic landmark and historic. That would be my pick.

Would you want to see Je’Von Evans vs. CM Punk or Rey Mysterio?

Both matches would be incredible, especially one between Rey and Je’Von. And eventually, we’ll probably see both matches happen. There is no need to rush things, though.

Enzo Amore says his WWE exit was like Moses leaving Egypt. Thoughts?

Did the wrestlers part as Enzo left the arena? Was Moses under an investigation by legal authorities, but didn’t let his employers know? Did Enzo lead the WWE superstars to their freedom and salvation? No to all the above. I don’t think this comparison works very well. In this, Enzo is NOT the realist guy in the room. In fact, he just sounds S-A-W-T to me. And you can’t teach that.

Do you think Brock Anderson has what it takes to follow in his father’s footsteps—or should he carve a new legacy entirely on his own?

While having Arn at his side has opened many doors for Brock, I think it’s limited him in many ways as well. Brock has the look and the skills, but he’s identified with his father too much, and it’s a huge shadow to live in and improve. Brock could be a huge star, but he’s not perceived as Brock Anderson, but instead as the next generation of Enforcer and Mini-Me Arn. A break from his father would probably work in Brock’s favor.

And there you go. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Reach me by e-mail at Doug28352@yahoo.com or on X at @Doug28352. I’ll see you at the matches.
