Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray Cyrus. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Tony Schiavone says that he has no interest in being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Thoughts?
Tomy says this, and he may even believe it now, but I’m pretty sure if Triple H called him up and offered him an induction to the WWE HOF, he’d say yes.
The Bloodline versus The Elite. Who wins?
So, this would be Roman Reigns and The Usos versus The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. The Bloodline wins, I do not doubt that.
How would you feel if you worked for WWE and they lied to you about Seth Rollins’ fake injury?
Part of me understands the need for kayfabe, and I get it, but honestly, I’d be pissed off that they don’t trust me and feel the need to lie to me. Yeah, I’d be pissed off.
How weird is it for WWE to show previews of Unreal, where they make it clear that what we are watching isn’t real, while we are watching a show that they want us to think is real?
I noticed that while watching RAW, it didn’t feel right at all. Truthfully, it felt like a slap in the face to WWE’s viewers. I understand that they’re big on this show and need to advertise, but how can we invest in a show when, right in the middle of that show, we’re reminded that it’s fake? That makes it hard to suspend belief and enjoy the product. Absolutely not a good move by WWE.
Is it time to put the guy in a mask bit on a long-term vacation?
Yeah, we’ve seen too many figures dressed in black and being a mystery as of late. Less is more, and this has been happening way too often as of late. Give it a rest for a while.
You’re going on Family Feud and can pick any four wrestlers, past or present, as your family. Who are you taking with you?
My bro, Michael Youngblood, my former boss, and one half of the Atlantic Coast Destruction Crew, Ethan Storm, Lisa “Ivory” Moretti, and Mr. James E. Cornette.
Ric Flair has finally responded to the complaints about his Cameos and has offered one of the disgruntled customers a refund. Thoughts?
I doubt Ric is sincere, and I doubt that the quality of his cameos will improve. Ric is trying to save face and pretend he cares, but remember, Ric has always been a heel and all about Ric Flair. One fan might get his money back, but look at all the publicity Ric has gotten from this. Ric is laughing all the way to the bank, and he’s not going to change.
The Miz has not won a singles match in 23 months. Thoughts?
It doesn’t matter because he’s still over, can still pop a crowd, and win or lose, he’s still the Miz, and he’s (wait for it)… AWESOME!
Do you think AEW would be better off under Paramount or Netflix?
Paramount. If Netflix gets the distribution deal and is forced to choose between AEW and WWE, AEW is literally screwed. Paramount will, at least, work with them and keep them on the air.
What do you think led to Dax Harwood deleting his X account?
It seems as if Dax has drunk so much of the AEW Kool-Aid over the past couple of years that he’s given up and just seems tired of defending what he obviously doesn’t believe in, but still gets paid by. I’m just speculating, but watching Dax over the past year or so, he just seems to be going through the motions now.
What did you think of The Rock’s performance in The Smashing Machine? Should he have won the Golden Globe?
I haven’t seen the movie, but I have read some good reviews. Should he have won a Golden Globe? Despite his Hollywood credentials, The Rock is still considered a wrestling guy, and Hollywood will never give him the proper credit, regardless of how well he does. I’ll watch the movie when it comes to streaming, buta wrestler is not going to win a major acting award, no matter how good they do. It really is just that simple.
Do you think AEW should have a General Manager/Authority Figure for TV? Why or why not?
It might clear up some of the craziness and confusion and bring structure to AEW television, plus it’d give Bryan Danielson something to do besides play announcer. Sure, go for it, AEW. Make someone a boss.
