Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray Cyrus. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

R-Truth says that his dream final opponent would be The Miz. Thoughts?

Given their long history and friendship, this makes sense. Plus, it would be a good match. Sounds right to me.

Vanity Project has been called up to the NXT roster. Thoughts?

Good move by WWE. I’ll miss these rascals on Evolve, but this group is talented and is money waiting to be made. I’m more surprised that it took this long to move them to NXT than the actual move. These are future stars waiting to explode.

The Rascalz have signed with AEW/ Thoughts?

A huge loss for TNA as Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz, Myron Reed, and Dezmond Xavier are all very talented wrestlers and have been the heart of TNA’s midcard scene for quite a while. I hope they’ll do well in AEW and have lots of success, but I fear that we’ll end up with another Hurt Syndicate, where they get a big push that goes nowhere, and then, once the newness wears off, become forgotten members of the Don Callis Family. AEW has been given a major gift, and now, we’ll just have to watch and see if Tony Khan knows how to use it properly. I hope he does.

CM Punk says that he plans on retiring from in-ring action by age 50. Thoughts?

Punk seemingly has a great career ahead of him in Hollywood, so he won’t be retiring so much as just changing jobs. Punk is listening to his body. I doubt that age 50 is written in concrete, but it seems to be more of a “Best if Used By” instead. And even if he does quit full-time in-ring work, I have a feeling that Punk will remain in the wrestling business, in some capacity, for many more years to come.

Gunther “tapped out” to AJ Styles on RAW. Thoughts?

The referee didn’t see it, so it doesn’t count. Gunther outsmarted AJ Styles and then won the match, as he should. Gunther is just being a good heel, and nothing more.

Does Adrian Adonis belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?

Not so much for that final run in WWE, but for the career that came before, I would say yes.

Adrian Adonis & Jesse Ventura versus Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane, The Midnight Express. Who wins?

Adonis and Jesse, The East-West Connection, were an amazing team and dominated the ring for quite a while in the AWA. But Bobby & Stan are arguably the greatest tag team of all time, at least in my opinion. And they have Jim Cornette at ringside. The Midnights win.

Ernie “The Cat” Ladd versus Roman Reigns. Who wins?

In his prime, Ernie was amazing. He could work a crowd and tell a story like few others. Roman would probably win the match, but Ernie would take him to school and make him earn every inch of that win. Roman wins the match, but Ernie would win the war.

Should AEW pull the trigger on Okada as World Champion?

The guy can’t talk, plus generally only gives about 50% at most for the majority of his matches. So World Champion? I would say no to that.

Do you agree with Billy Gunn? Are modern wrestlers too focused on flips and not enough on story?

The wrestlers today know moves, but not storytelling. And yes, they tend to be spot monkeys and not wrestlers. Gunn is 1000% correct.

Would you be fine with a drunken Ric Flair Cameo, or do fans deserve better when paying hundreds of dollars?

Ric, as he currently behaves, is embarrassing to me, and while I’m a fan of Ric Flair, the wrestler, the current model just makes me cringe. If I’m paying my money for a Cameo, I want it done well and at least semi-professional. And a drunkard reading off a card and slurring all over the place, that just doesn’t work for me, brother.

In addition to The Rascalz, AEW has also announced the signings of CMLL star Peresphone, Mascara Dorada, and Hechicaro. Thoughts?

The three CMLL stars have signed dual contracts and will be working with CMLL as well as AEW. Now, it’s official.

Powerhouse Hobbs’ contract with AEW has expired, and he is now a free agent. Thoughts?

Hobbs has a lot of potential, and I hope AEW hasn’t ruined him too badly for WWE/NXT to repair. All reports seem to indicate he’s heading to WWE. Hobbs is someone to keep an eye on, and he’s going to be a major name sooner rather than later. I’m happy for the dude.
