Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray Cyrus. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Becky Lynch says that her current WWE contract is probably her last. Thoughts?
Becky may think that now, but once the time comes, she has the prerogative to change her mind or maybe move to a part-time deal. Becky is on a roll right now and is easily one of the best women currently in WWE. We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for the Man, but I hope she sticks around for a while to come.
Jerry Lawler has spoken about having one last match. Thoughts?
Nope, Jerry, don’t do it. Everyone knows you’re The King, and you have nothing to prove to anyone. Don’t be a Flair and destroy your legacy. You’re better than that.
Name your three favorite managers in professional wrestling.
Jim Cornette, Sir Oliver Humperdink, and Paul Jones.
Mr. Wrestling II versus Rusev. Who wins?
In most of these matches, the legend versus the current star, I tend to side with the legend. The old school guys tend to be tougher and better wrestlers overall, while the new, more modern talent looks better, is more athletic and stronger, but doesn’t quite have that inner toughness that was so prevalent back in the day. That’s most matches. For some reason here, I’m thinking that Rusev is the better wrestler. I’m going with Rusev to win.
Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson versus AJ Styles & Dragon Lee. Who wins?
AJ and Lee are both amazing wrestlers and incredible talents. Arn and Tully are a team, though. They’re the Horsemen, and in this match, the Horsemen would win. Arn and Tully with the victory.
Should Ted DiBiase be recognized as a former WWE Champion?
Ted was given the belt by Andre, defended it a few times, and then was stripped of the belt by Jack Tunney. Between getting the belt and being stripped of the belt, Ted defended the belt at a couple of house show events. Thus, the Million Dollar Man should be recognized as a former WWE Champion.
What are your thoughts on the reboot and current push of Kit Wilson?
I’m surprised that Wilson is getting a push of sorts, but I’m always glad to see someone new and different get a chance at some glory and the spotlight. I’m happy for him.
Should TNA bring back Dixie Carter as a full-time on-screen character?
No, they should not. Dixie was arguably one of the worst things to ever happen to TNA, and she’s best left in the rear-view mirror as a bad memory. TNA has enough issues going on, and they don’t need to add to the craziness by bringing back Dixie.
Cowboy Bobby Duncum passed away today. Thoughts & memories of the big man from Texas?
I mainly knew Duncum through the Apter Mags, although I do think he made some appearances for Crockett, attempting to collect the bounty that Ric Flair had placed on the head of Blackjack Mulligan. A big dude and a tough-ass Texan. RIP Cowboy.
According to the Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez, New Japan star EVIL is headed to the WWE. Thoughts?
I remember, back in the days when I first started writing for the Wrestling Informer website and covered wrestling in Japan, that EVIL was just starting, and I’d see that name frequently. I’ve never actually seen him wrestle, but he seemed to get a lot of wins quite regularly. I’m sure he’ll do well under the NXT/WWE/AAA umbrella. So now, we should say, WWE is EVIL! Indeed!
Bishop Dyer, aka the former Baron Corbin, is now All Elite. Thoughts?
I’ve been wondering when he’d show up and become All Elite. Corbin is a talented dude, and he was hitting his stride well in WWE before he was released. Look at that. Another guy who can actually work is joining AEW. I wonder how long it will take AEW and Tony to screw this one up.
