Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray Cyrus. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
So, who called Adam Pearce on RAW? Triple H, Vince McMahon, The Rock, or who?
Considering that he didn’t get an Academy Award nomination, I think the Final Boss, Dwayne Johnson, seems to be the most likely candidate. I’m pretty sure that it isn’t Vince. I guess that we’ll find out Monday as they break the walls down, and we start to foreshadow the return of Jericho.
I was curious which female talents you enjoy the most currently?
Of the women currently wrestling, my favorites are Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, and Iyo Sky. And of course, The Man, Becky Lynch.
Trey Miguel is back with TNA. Thoughts?
I’ve always liked Miguel as part of TNA, and I’m glad they took him back. He’s a talented wrestler and has a lot of potential to be a huge star. AEW and more specifically, WBD, dropped the ball. They had a solid performer under contract and decided to release him over a Twitter feed from several years ago. Look at Miguel’s career in TNA over the past few years, and he’s been a role model employee. AEW and WBD just dropped the ball and made a mistake. Miquel deserves better, and I’m glad he’s back in TNA.
What is YOUR all-time favorite pro wrestling Feud?
The Mid-Atlantic region and Jimmy Valiant versus The Managers. He started off feuding with The House of Humperdink, and then Gary Hart, and then Paul Jones stepped in. But it was Valiant versus TheManagers for over six years, and it never got boring or stale. It was good, NWA and Mid-Atlantic wrestling at its best. As Boogie would say, Have Mercy!
Any word on David Finlay coming to AEW or WWE?
Finlay is finishing up with New Japon, but where he goes next, I have no idea. His dad, Fit Finlay, currently works for WWE as an agent and trainer, so I would think that’s the mostlikely final destination.
Buff Bagwell wants to do one more match. Thoughts?
If anyone can do it, Buff is the stuff, and I wish him the very best in achieving this goal. According to Buff, he’s been talking to Zach Gowen, who has had a long career wrestling with only one leg, and is living proof that it can be done. Go for it, Buff.
Would you like to see a rematch with Chelsea Green and Penta?
Nope. Their match took place in Lucha Underground many years ago. It was entertaining, but neither person is the same now as they were back then. Let each one do their thing now, and leave the past in the past, as it should be.
“Chelsea is so entertaining. But she is not built for, nor should she be in the Charlotte Flair role or Tiffany Stratton. Because Chelsea’s job is to help make those people.” – Michael Hayes, WWE Unreal. Thoughts?
In many ways, Hayes is right. And I think Chelsea would agree. She doesn’t mind losing, and her goal is to be entertaining, not being over. I’d love to see Chelsea as the WWE or Women’s Champion, but I don’t see her as a dominant, fighting champion, like Charlotte or Bianca. She would be the lucky-to-be-there heel, barely hanging on. It sounds mean, but Hayes is right.
If you could remove 5 people from the WWE Hall of Fame, who would you remove? And who would you replace them with?
Who would I remove? James Dudley, Michelle McCool, Torrie Wilson, The Bella Twins, and Drew Carey. And who would replace them? The Midnight Express w/ Jim Cornette, Dutch Mantell, Ole & Gene Anderson, Victoria, and Bob Caudle.
KJ Orso, fka Fuego Del Sol, has signed a deal with TNA. I know he’s one of your favorites. Thoughts?
I’m glad to see Orso signed to TNA. He’s a charismatic and talented dude, and has a lot to offer. Maybe this will be his big break. I’m hoping that he and Alan Angels can work together and do something. Their chemistry is amazing.
Do you think Adam Pearce should wrestle again to settle the score with Heyman? Or is he more effective behind the desk than inside the ropes?
I’ve always been a fan of Pearce as a wrestler, and if he were to come back for a match or two, I wouldn’t object at all, so long as it makes sense in the story. But so far as long-term plans go, I’d rather see him continue as a General Manager or other non-wrestling role.
Ash by Elegance’s retirement is over, and she’s back in TNA. Thoughts?
I don’t know why she had to retire and vacate her TNA Knockouts Championship, but whatever the reason, I’m glad she’s past that and able to return to the ring. The former Dana Brooke is a talented wrestler, and the Ash character is a fun one. I’m glad she’s back.
