It’s the biggest party of the year, the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m your host and Guiding Light, Doug. If you have questions, I have the answers. Let’s roll.

Baron Corbin is coming back to Smackdown. Thoughts?

Baron has done an excellent job of reinventing himself while in NXT and is currently a babyface. If he can keep the character and momentum up from the last few months upon his return to the main roster and Smackdown, I think he’ll do well and get over as a strong mid-card talent. The fans who haven’t been paying attention are in for a pleasant surprise.

Tony Khan: “We’re like the Pepsi of pro wrestling. We’re (AEW) up against a really evil juggernaut. WWE is our competitor. That’s who we’re facing. WWE is like the Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling.” Thoughts?

Tony needs to think before he speaks. That was just a crude and wrong remark. I get that he’s trying to stir the pot and get publicity for his company, but any company that has Sammy Guevera, Ric Flair, and Mr. NDA Chris Jericho on the roster can’t make that kind of statement. What is it about pot meet kettle?

Is Chad Gable the next Kurt Angle?

That seems to be the direction that WWE is headed with Gable. I’d rather see him be the next Chad Gable, but if he has to emulate someone, Kurt is not a bad choice.

So Carlito was revealed as the man who attacked Dragon Lee and has turned heel. Thoughts?

After months of standing in the background, we finally get to see Carlito move to the front of the line and battle against Dragon Lee, Rey Mysterio, and the rest of the LWO. I think that’s cool.

The Great Khali & El Gigante versus Omos & Giant Baba. Who wins?

Easy one here. Omos and Baba win because unlike the rest of the people in this match, Baba was a 3-time NWA World Champion and didn’t suck!

Do you think AEW, under the management of Tony Khan, will still exist in five years?

Honestly, no, I do not. I think Tony is on the verge of a breakdown or burnout and it’s all going to take its toll eventually. Tony is only human, yet he tries to do everything himself in AEW, plus has duties with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and his family soccer team He’s not Superman and eventually, it’s all going to be too much. AEW may get shut down or just sold to someone else, but within the next 5 years, I expect things to have changed dramatically.

What led to Nikita joining forces with Dusty? Did Dusty approach him? I can’t remember.

If I recall correctly, after Magnum TA was in the car accident that ended his career, Dusty needed a partner and Nikita, citing his respect for Magnum TA, offered to be Dusty’s partner. And thus, the Super Powers tag team was born. It was more of a Nikita approaching Dusty rather than Dusty making the first move.

Who was your favorite star in the NWA and why?

Back in the day, it was The Anderson Brothers, Ole and Gene, Jimmy Valiant, Blackjack Mulligan, and Johnny Weaver.

Should Tony Khan bring in Scott D’Amore to run and book ROH? Then he could have more time and focus on AEW. Thoughts?

It surely wouldn’t hurt to have someone like D’Amore come in and take over control of ROH or even AEW itself. Unlike Tony, D’Amore knows how to book and format a show, tell stories, and create an entertaining product while running the company in a businesslike and professional manner. That would be an excellent suggestion.

Max Caster of the Acclaimed has been suspended. Thoughts?

Max tweeted that he had been suspended, although he never specified as to why. Then he showed up on Collision just a few days later, wrestling in a match. I guess the suspension was overturned. No details were ever given.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
