Greetings, salutations and all that crap. Good morning friends and guess what? I’m bored. Not really bored as in “there’s nothing to do”, but bored in more of the “I have so much to do, but none of it sounds appealing at the moment”. Yeah, it’s like that. I should be scrounging the web for statements / questions for my “Fact or Fiction” bits, but just sounds like work. So I’m going to sit here and just answer questions. I have twenty of them and they’re actually pretty detailed and complex questions that, as Arsenio Hall used to say (remember him), make you go, “Hmmmmm!”. I may do all twenty now or break this up into three parts, doing seven on one post, seven on the next and six on the last one. Actually, that sounds like a plan since these are not the kind of questions that can be answered with one or two words and this could get pretty lengthy. So that’s what I’ll do and this is Part One of Three. Let’s do this…
Twenty Questions (Part 1 of 3)

What do most people think about you that is absolutely not true?
I guess that some people think that I don’t listen or pay attention, but that is definitely not true. I listen. I see. I observe. And I remember very well. I don’t always acknowledge everything and prefer at times to keep my thoughts buried and to myself, but don’t think I don’t know because I do. Another thing is that some folks think I’m rude or an ass-clown and anti-social and while that is true, to a point, I do like people and being with people. I like having friends and going out and all of that crazy stuff. I just have issues with anxiety and rather than fight that dread and tension, I often just give in and stay home. It’s not that I don’t like people, but it’s just not easy to be around them sometimes.
What is the TLDR (Too Long – Didn’t Read) version of your life?
Why would I give a “too long” version of my life when my goal, doing this stuff, is to try and make it entertaining, readable and interesting for others. Too long means no one will read and I’ll have wasted my time. So I’ll give the cliffnote version of my life instead. Slightly crazy sexy beast. Lonely and wants a good man. Works a lot and trying to find his way. Music and wrestling are cool! Assholes are not! What you see is what you get. I love my cat! ‘Nuff said!
Do you think the convenience of technology is worth the loss of privacy that comes with it?
It’s a double edged sword to be sure. It’s so easy to talk to people now and share via social media, but anything and everything seems to get out there now and judgement by strangers is so common. I pretty much live my life now as an open book and don’t have many privacy issues. If you want to know something, just ask. But if all of this social media and sharing and cell phones and videos and etc, had been around when I was younger, I probably wouldn’t have this great and open attitude. I did a lot of stupid shit back in the day that luckily, is lost and buried in my history, never to be seen again, shit that if I was to do today, would probably have me dead or in prison at least. Technology is great, but privacy is definitely the better of the two, at least where I am concerned.
Is it okay to sacrifice one life to save ten? If you said yes, would you change answer if the one life was a friend’s life and the ten were strangers? If no, why not?
All life is sacred and should be valued and it’s not okay to sacrifice any lives for any reason if it can be avoided. But then we come to the situation like this question brings up where one life lost saves ten and would it be okay and worth it? I honestly don’t know what I would do in this situation, especially if that one life was my friend or family member. Would I give up my own life to save ten people. Absolutely. No doubts there, but could I take the life of someone else or have them sacrifice their life for the greater good and life of others? I have absolutely no idea and I hope that it’s a choice I never have to make.
What are the consequences of everyone having instant distraction at their fingertips?
For me personally, it’s less work accomplished, far less sleep than I probably should get, and truthfully, a dumber and less intelligent society. People suffer from information overload and instead of learning a great deal about one or two things and becoming experts in that field, they’re constantly bombarded by so many different things all the time, and learn just bits and pieces and never have a full knowledge of anything. Just a fragmented education instead. And while that’s great if you’re playing Trivial Pursuit, it’s not good for living in the real world and having a full life or career.
What should they teach in high school but don’t?
So many things that used to be on the school class schedule, but are no longer taught come to mind. How about shop? How about art? How about music? How about simple math? And what about common sense things that are a part of life, but few high-schoolers seem to have a clue about like balancing a checkbook, going to a job interview, cooking a meal, simple home repairs, simple auto repairs, etc. And here’s one – how about being respectful of others and common courtesy, using manners, being polite, and how to act in public. It’s a different world now from when I was in school and I get that, but still, some things should be consistent and while all of this should start at home, the school should be able to suppplement and help out too. Just saying.
Which movie or book do you think is ridiculously overrated?
The “Hobbit” movies and the “Fast & Furious” movies. They’re all okay I guess, but I just can’t get really into any of them all that much. I prefer a different kind of movie with more characters, more emotions, etc. That’s just me though. I’ll watch these movies if they’re on and I have nothing better to do, but so far as picking them myself or any of that, probably won’t happen. Give me stupid, funny, emotional, eclectic or Kevin Smith anytime.
And there you go, with Part One in the books. I’ll be back later tonight or tomorrow with Part Two. Until then, have a great one.
Ubuntu!
