Shinsuke Nakamura, Sable, Damian Priest & More

It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. And that is all the people need to know. Let’s do this.
When do you think Damian Priest will cash in his Money in the Bank contract?
I think we’ll see Priest cash in the MITB contract when he’s ready to do so and the time feels right. I’m expecting sometime right after Crown Jewel.
Lady Frost is All-Elite. Thoughts?
Frost is a good wrestler who worked for Impact Wrestling and the NWA for a while. She’s not the biggest name or the most well-known, but she is solid in the ring and decent on the mic, so it’s a good signing by AEW. Whether she’ll be allowed to grow and develop into a top name, or just be forgotten in catering except for the occasional squash remains to be seen, but if she’s given an opportunity, Frost can be a big star. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Should WWE bring back the Cyber Sunday/Taboo Tuesday PPV events?
While I don’t think that either would work well as a PPV in today’s market for the two brands, I could see doing this as either a special edition of RAW or Smackdown or even as an NXT-branded event. It’s a fun idea to have the fans decide the match stipulations and participants, but it’s a bit too gimmicky for my liking for most of the shows.
Describe The Elite in one word.
Jokes.
After back-to-back PLE losses for the WHC, where does Shinsuke Nakamura go from here?
Shinsuke may have lost to Seth Rollins, but these past two months have raised his stock quite a bit and put Shinsuke back into the discussion as a top guy again, something his career was surely needing. It looks as if the next move for Shinsuke is to feud with and elevate Ricochet, which should make for an eventful couple of months and a strong mid-card feud. Shinsuke goes from the main event to a solid upper mid-card spot on the roster, which given the way his career had been going, is not a bad place to be.
Does Sable belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
I know a lot of people don’t like her and I get that, but given her role in the WWE in the mid-90s, plus her spot in the history of the WWE, she is a deserving inductee and belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame.
If Brock Lesnar does return for WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, who should his opponent be? And how would you book this match to happen?
A match against either Bronson Reed or Bron Breakker would be fun to see, but if Brock does win, I expect more of an underdog opponent in that ring. How about Chad Gable? He came just so close with Gunther, so how about Brock shows up at RAW or Smackdown and issues an open challenge for Crown Jewel? Gable comes out and accepts and Brock kind of laughs it off, but Gable, being a former Olympian and having that never-say-die attitude, insists. When the match happens, Gable can take the fight to Brock and even though he’ll lose, he’ll earn credibility and more respect in the process. Sounds like a plan to me.
So, Bronson Reed versus Gunther? Is Reed the man who will take the IC title away from the Ring General? Thoughts?
Reed and Gunther will have a good, smashmouth fight and it will be awesome to see, but it isn’t Reed’s time. Not yet. He’ll give Gunther a good challenge, but then when the smoke settles, The Ring General will retain his title while the monster, Reed, moves on to try and bully someone else.
You’re making a documentary about something related to pro wrestling. What would your documentary be about?
I would love to see a documentary about wrestling’s original power couple, The Dean of Professional Wrestling, Johnny Weaver, and his marriage to former AWA Women’s Champion and a wrestling legend in her own right, Penny Banner. Penny covered most of the details of her marriage to Weaver in her book, Banner Days, but the story just intrigues me and always has, especially since I used to speak to Penny regularly, as a fan, before she passed away, plus I was a huge fan of Weaver while growing up. They weren’t quite MAcho Man and Liz, but they weren’t Sid Nancy either. They were somewhere in between. Two wrestling legends who mixed careers with family and have a great story waiting to be heard. That’s what I’d try and do, tell their story.
The Blade Runners (Sting & Ultimate Warrior) versus The American Starship (Scott Hall & Dan Spivey). Who wins?
Just imagine all four of these men, in their rookie years, colliding in that squared circle. It would be so fun, especially considering what each of them did later on in their careers and the heights that they eventually reached. As for who wins, my money is on The American Starship. It was obvious from Day 1 that Coyote, aka Scott Hall, was going to be a big star one day. So the American Starship wins.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, let’s wrap it up. I have to be at a doctor’s appointment in fifteen minutes. So take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
