It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A and that is all the people need to know. I’m your Guiding Light and party host, Doug. Let’s roll.
Ronda Rousey states she doesn’t intend to ever return to WWE & calls the company a “shit show”. Thoughts?
Rhonda has her opinions and she’s entitled to them. WWE dropped the ball with her towards the end and apparently, she wasn’t thrilled with Vince, Johnny Ace, or Bruce all that much. Given what we know now, I can’t say I blame her for feeling as she does.
Rikishi recently stated that he thinks Chyna belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame as an individual and not just as a member of DX. Thoughts?
Rikishi is right, but given the porn movies and the downward spiral she went on after her exit from the WWE, I don’t think that’s ever going to happen. Being part of the Hall of Fame, as part of DX, is probably the best we ever could have hoped for.
Dave Meltzer is reporting that “the women” in AEW are unhappy over the contract Mercedes Moné received, which is said to be in the multi-millions of dollars. Meltzer: “Internal belief is that the women who have been there since day one and have shed blood for the company and helped build it aren’t getting even 10%”. Thoughts?
And all of this is alleged to come from Dr. Britt Baker. I don’t know how true this is, given the source, but I can see plenty of the people on the AEW roster, both men and women, being upset if the amounts Mercedes is alleged to be getting is even half-true. The roster laid the groundwork that is AEW and then Mercedes, along with Ospreay & Okada, swoop in and reap all the benefits. I’d be pissed off too. We’ll just have to keep an eye on this and see how things develop.
What’s your Mt. Rushmore of wrestling storylines?
For me, it’d be the Ole Anderson/Dusty Rhodes “It’ll never be over!” story where Ole turned on Dusty. That one led to some great feuds, the Horsemen, and was incredible. The Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Vince McMahon feud would be next. Larry Zbyszko turns on Bruno would be one, and the final? Let’s go with the past three years and The Bloodline.
Do you think we’ll ever see Jungle Boy Jack Perry back in an AEW ring?
According to recent reports, Khan blames Perry for the whole CM Punk mess, but won’t grant him a release from his AEW contract. It’s a crazy situation in my opinion, and it’s hard to determine what’s real and what’s a work where Perry is concerned. I think we’ll eventually see him back in AEW. I would say yes.
Adam Copeland defeated Christian on AEW Dynamite in an “I Quit” match and is now the new TNT Champion. Thoughts?
I saw the match and it wasn’t bad. I think this is a last-ditch effort to do something with Copeland in AEW and salvage what has been, thus far, a very disappointing run. If anyone can make this work, I have faith in Christian to make the program with Copeland work. We’ll just have to watch and see what happens.
In the same show, Kazuchika Okada defeated Eddie Kingston to win the AEW Triple Crown Championship. Thoughts?
This match did nothing for me and I wasn’t really impressed by either man. It’s just filler. By the way, the Triple Crown isn’t the Triple Crown anymore. Tony Khan tried to explain it, but his explanation was more confusing than if he hadn’t said anything at all. I think it’s just the Continental Championship again, but hell if I know for sure.
Should AEW have a Hall of Fame of their own or is it too soon? If AEW did start a HOF, who would be your first five inductees?
I think it’s too soon for AEW to be thinking about a Hall of Fame. They’re not even five years old yet. But if they do decide to go that route and I was the one to pick the first inductees, my choices would be Sting, Brodie Lee, Chris Jericho, Owen Hart, and Bryan Danielson.
Do you think we’ll see Adam Copeland and Christian team up at least one more time in AEW and win tag team gold before their careers are over?
It has to happen. I would say yes to having Christian and Copeland have one more run as a tag team. It would reek of awesomeness.
Mother Wayne versus Baby Doll. Who wins?
Being the wife of a long-time well-respected wrestler and the mother of an up-and-coming talent like Nick Wayne, I’m sure that Mother Wayne has been in a scrap or two in her life and could hold her own for a little bit. But that being said, Baby Doll is a true legend and an amazing person. Baby Doll would whoop that ass.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap this up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for SPIKE and I’ll see you at the matches.
