I’m listening to the WWE Backlash: France Kickoff Show and while I’m listening to CM Punk and Big E put over WWE and France, what better time to tackle a few more questions for the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A? I’m Doug, your resident Party Host & Guiding Light. Let’s do this.

According to Meltzer, “WWE doesn’t have a “big-time direction” for Cody Rhodes until The Rock and Roman Reigns make their return.” Thoughts?

So essentially they’re playing it by ear. Normally, I’d be concerned, but considering the source, I’m sure he’s wrong. I have faith in Triple H and WWE and Cody will have plenty to keep him busy as the defending WWE Champion.

Wendi Richter has finally responded to Toni Storm about her repeated challenges and comments, saying that she’d be happy to do something with Storm so long as the money is right. Thoughts?

Tony Khan likes to pay out big money so meeting the financial demands of Wendi Richter shouldn’t be a problem. My only real concern here is that Wendi hasn’t wrestled since 2005 and is 63 years old. The last time I saw her on TV, she didn’t look to be in great shape. How she’ll do in an angle against Storm has to be an issue for all parties involved. Maybe she’ll have Thunder Rosa as a bodyguard, but the entire concept of Richter versus Storm, while it sounds good in theory, I can’t see how the reality will go that well.

In your opinion, who is the GREATEST NXT Champion of all time?

You didn’t specify man or woman so the answer is easy and obvious for me. She held the NXT Women’s Championship for 522 days. I’m talking about the Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka.

Do you think Roman will be a babyface when he returns?

Yes, he will, without a doubt. Roman has always been a tweener at best and absence makes the heart grow fonder. When Roman returns, he’s going to get an amazing pop from the crowd and reaction.

Ronda Rousey is allegedly working on a script for Netflix to turn her biography into a movie. Thoughts?

Good for her. It should make for an interesting story. Ronda may be burning bridges since she left WWE, but she’s had an amazing life and story. If the movie actually gets made, I’ll probably watch it.

WWE just released ten wrestlers from NXT. It’s Drew Gulak, Ezekiel Balogun, Julian Baldi, Trey Bearhill, Emmamaria Diaz, Valentina Feroz, Keyshawn Leflore, Darrell Mason, Vlad Pavlenko, Kiyah Saint. Thoughts?

Except for Drew Gulak, I don’t recognize any of these names. Getting released and losing a job always sucks, but it seems that WWE is just cutting costs and eliminating some dead weight. Yes, it sucks, but it’s just business and it happens.

Not enough people talk about the fact that CM Punk is still the AEW world champion and AEW can only have interim champions for the rest of its existence. This also means the original AEW title is now owned by HHH and WWE. Thoughts?

Correction: If he still has the belt, CM Punk owns the original title and not Triple H or WWE. They have nothing to do with Punk and his status as AEW Champion. That’s between Punk and AEW. It’s an interesting thought that Punk is still the reigning AEW Champion and technically, he never lost the title nor was any official statement ever made in regards to the title being stripped from Punk. Maybe one day, he’ll bring out the belt and reveal himself as the “Real World’s Champion”, but honestly, I doubt it.

Matt Cardona is the new General Manager of GCW. Thoughts?

I guess Matt needed something to do to keep himself busy while he recovered from a torn pec and surgery. This is a good move by GCW to keep Matt in the spotlight and things in GCW will certainly be interesting for the next few months.

Had John Cena stayed full-time time do you think would have broken Ric Flair’s record for championships?

If Cena was full-time as part of WWE, I do not doubt that there would be a few more title reigns added to his resume. Cena would be breaking Ric’s record. Of that, I am very sure.

Which current members of the WWE roster do you think will transition into commentary once their in-ring career is over?

Off the top of my head, aside from the obvious CM Punk, I could see Xavier Woods making the transition. He already hosts a show for WWE on YouTube, plus his New Day partner Big E is already doing commentary and Xavier is a natural. I could see Kevin Owens making the transition as well.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’m going to go watch WWE Backlash: France now. Have a great one and I’ll se you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
