It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s do this. Let’s roll.
Paul Heyman seriously deserves an Emmy for the WWE Bloodline performance. Yes or no?
If pro wrestling was part of the Hollyweird elite, Heyman deserves an Emmy, an Oscar, and a Tony. He deserves all the accolades he can be given, but he’ll probably have to settle for a Slammy instead.
Ethan Page says that AEW was “so chaotic and unorganized” compared to WWE NXT which he calls an “incredible” machine. Thoughts?
Several others have referred to how unstructured and chaotic backstage at AEW is. I think Billy Gunn said that earlier in his AEW run, plus Road Dogg, CM Punk, and several others. The WWE and NXT are run like a business with a pecking order and structure in place. AEW is run like a small-time Indy show with a bigger budget.
Who would have made a better Horseman? Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, or Terry Funk.
The way the Horsemen worked, with the goal of the Horsemen being to protect Flair and that World Championship title, none of these men would fit into the role of a Horseman. Maybe Terry Funk for a short period before he turned on Flair and the rest of the group, but honestly, I couldn’t see any of these men doing well as a member of the Horsemen. Harley in the JJ Dillon role, after his retirement, might work, but I don’t see how any of these men could raise those four fingers into the air.
Rip Hawk & Swede Hanson versus The Authors of Pain. Who wins?
Who even remembers Rip and Swede besides me? Yes, I’m damn old. The AOP would win, but they would know that they’d been in a good, stiff match and fight.
Daniel Garcia’s AEW contract expires in October. Do you think he’ll stay with AEW or try to move on to somewhere else?
I think Garcia has been written off of TV and when his deal expires, he’s headed to either TNA, NXT or the Indys. I think his time in AEW has ended.
Is MJF better as heel or face?
Why is this even a question? Even as a face, MJF played the heel more than often. MJF is okay as a face, but he’s in his element and amazing as a heel.
Dr. Britt Baker versus Molly Holly. Who wins?
Baker is a good wrestler and one of the best of AEW, but Molly Holly is a WWE Hall of Famer and truly one of the best women in the history of the business. Molly would take the win with this one.
Dijak says that he considered being booked for WWE Main Event as a “death sentence”. Thoughts?
Stevie Richards was a mainstay of Sunday Night Heat back in the day and used that role to get over. Dijak had an opportunity and was being presented on TV regularly but didn’t take advantage to make it bigger than it was. If Dijak had been stuck in catering or at home, it would be a death sentence. Dijak was working a spot and wrestling regularly. It’s all about making the best of a situation and Dijak didn’t do it. He has no reason to complain. At least he was being used.
Austin Theory & Grayson Waller versus Paul Jones & Rick Steamboat. Who wins?
Theory and Waller are damn good and the future of the business. They’re going to be huge stars in WWE for many years to come. Jones and Steamboat were one of the best teams of their era and in my opinion, aside from his partnership with Jay Youngblood, Jones was Steamboat’s best tag team partner. This would be an amazing match. I think Steamboat & Jones would take the win after an incredible match.
Are the Usos a Top 3 Tag Team of All Time?
A top-ten tag team of all time? I would say probably yes. But the top three? We’re talking about all-time and I would say no.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
