It’s the PM edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.

Kelly Kelly is teasing about possibly coming out of retirement. Thoughts?

Honestly, I have no thoughts on Kelly Kelly. She was an attractive woman who was hired by WWE because she was an attractive woman. She was never a good wrestler or promo. She was young and hot and in that era, under the auspices of Vince and Johnny Ace, that was more than enough. So if she comes back. fine. And if she chooses to stay retired, that’s fine too.

The New Elite has all the titles in AEW. Is this CM Punk’s worst nightmare?

I doubt that CM Punk loses any sleep or cares about what is happening in AEW. He’s moved on to a great career in WWE and a feud with Drew McIntyre. So The Elite are doing well in AEW? Big deal!

(WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain) – The Rock says that it bothered him that parts of the audience were upset over him taking Cody Rhodes’ spot at WrestleMania XL against Roman Reigns. Thoughts?

In hindsight, he says it bothered him. He realized that replacing Cody was a mistake and wanted to save face. The Rock is just trying to play CYA. It’s not a big deal.

Mercedes Mone says Tony Khan views her as the greatest women’s wrestler of all time. Thoughts?

She’s Tony’s newest toy so what does she expect him to say? And I’m sure that, in Tony’s mind anyhow, Mercedes is the best of all time. Until he finds someone new, more fresh, and changes his mind. And then that new woman will be the best.

Do you want to see Marty Scurll resurface on American television?

As of late, Scurll has been working in Puerto Rico and AAA, so he’s not totally out of the wrestling scene, but revelations of a sexual encounter with a 16-year-old in England, where the age of consent is 16, during the MeToo movement have limited his abilities to work in the United States. Scurll didn’t break any laws and while his judgment could have been better, he didn’t break any laws. It was a consensual relationship. He deserves a second chance in an American promotion. I’d like to see it happen.

The Russians (Ivan Koloff, Nikita Koloff, Krusher Kruschev) versus The Shield (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose). Who wins?

As big a fan, as I was of Uncle Ivan and the Russians, this one goes to The Shield.

During the territory days, who was your favorite star to watch? And what territory did they work for at the time?

I had plenty of favorites back in the day. In the Mid-Atlantic region, I was a big fan of Blackjack Mulligan, Jimmy Valiant, Johnny Weaver, and Baron Von Raschke. When I watched Georgia Championship Wrestling, I was a fan of Ole Anderson, Tommy Rich, and The Masked Superstar.

Angel Garza has signed a new deal with WWE. Thoughts on Garza?

I like Garza and think he’s an exceptional talent. Why he’s not being pushed harder, I don’t understand. I was a huge fan of his tag team with Andrade when they were managed by Zelina Vega. Garza is damn good. I think sticking with WWE is a good idea. His time is coming and he’ll be a strong player on the main roster sooner rather than later.

Tony Khan recently said that he might add a Talent Injury report segment to his shows. Thoughts?

There are so many members of the AEW roster currently out with injuries, that a special segment would take up 80% of the show. Then again, that would probably be more interesting than most of the matches and promos currently being presented on their shows. Better to just let the announcers mention the injuries during their commentary work as it relates to the stories and matches in the ring. That would be the best way to deal with the injuries and why certain people aren’t on TV.

Who was the best trash-talking as a group faction? The Fabulous Freebirds or the Horsemen?

The Freebirds only had one person who could talk, that being Michael Hayes. The Horsemen? Everyone could talk and cut a strong promo. So the Horsemen win this one, as they should.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
