Sometimes, I’ll be on Twitter and see something that really gets the blood pumping and, as Peter Griffin would say, really grinds my gears. These hot-button issues need to be addressed. And now, here I am, and I will. I’m just giving my opinion, nothing more. Questions, comments, and thoughts are welcome and appreciated, but keep it civil. I’m Doug. Let’s poke the bear for a little bit and see what happens. I’m just giving my customized look at things, from a Dougie perspective. Let’s roll.

Is health care a right?

There is no right to health care in the United States Constitution. Congress has enacted laws allowing for the creation of Medicaid and Medicare, which allows assistance with health care, provided a person can meet certain standards or qualifications. But is the right to health care guaranteed by the Constitution? Nope. Should it be? The argument for Universal Health Care is a complicated one, with pros and cons for both sides of the issue. Is it a good thing? Debatable. But as it stands now, it’s more of a good-faith gesture than anything else. And are we, the people, entitled to have the Government look after our health and cover the expenses? Nope, we’re not. It’s an entitlement we’ve just gotten used to. ‘Nuff said!

Pride Month. Should it be abolished?

Speaking as a gay man, why do we even have an entire month dedicated to celebrating being gay? I get being proud of who you are, but an entire month filled with the most extreme, fringe characters, literally shoving being gay down everyone’s throats? It makes no sense and hurts the cause more than helping in any manner. We always wanted to be accepted as normal, just another neighbor or friend, and we’ve gotten that for the most part. And then, a month of extreme activism, with the very worst and most extreme of gay culture dominating the news and being so prevalent for a month, that just sets everything back and makes people uneasy and scared. One step forward for the gay community, and then a month of extremism means three steps back. I’m proud to be who I am, a hard-working, honest, friendly guy, who just happens to be gay. I don’t need a month to prove myself or feel better about myself. APride month? It’s just too damn much.

The majority of Americans are happy that mass deportation of illegals has started. Are you one of them?

I am one of those people. I feel for the illegals being deported, but we’re a nation of laws. Breaking the law has consequences. If you’re in this country illegally, you’re breaking the law and thus, must deal with the consequences. There are multiple legal options available to enter our country and apply for citizenship. Follow the rules and there is no problem. But sneaking into our country, that’s criminal and action needs to be taken. And these mass deportations are exactly that.

Do you agree that the ‘T’ must be irrevocably severed from the ‘LGB’ once and for all?

What does a person pretending to be someone or something that they’re not have to do with someone being attracted to members of the same sex? Not a damn thing. They are two different things and should be respected and treated as such.

Joe Biden’s preemptive pardons for Dr. Fauci, General Milley, the Jan. 6 Committee, and various family members. Is it legal or not?

How can a pardon be issued when there is not a criminal act or conviction that can be articulated or shown? It’s simple. It can’t. If these so-called pardons are taken to the Supreme Court at some point, they’ll be declared invalid and illegal. I have no doubts about that.

And there you go. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated, but be civil. If you want to see more of these, let me know. And with that, I’m out of here. Have a great one. God Bless America and let’s make America great again. I’ll catch you later.

Ubuntu!
