Sloppy Joe Triple Threat

Before I get started, I just want to send out a Happy Birthday to my oldest brother, Steve. He’s 62 today. Love ya bro!
And now, let’s do this. I had a Manwich for breakfast. Yes, the “breakfast of champions” also known as a Sloppy Joe. I mix in onions and peppers when I brown the grown beef and it adds a great kick to the recipe. But as I was cooking and then munching, I starting hearing the Adam Sandler song, “Lunchlady Land” in my head. And of course, the principal figure in that song, the one that saves the day is (all together now) “Sloppy Joe”. So I’m going to share that song and video here. You’re welcome.
But wait! There’s more.
I remember an adult beverage that I saw listed in a Bartender’s Guide called (you guessed it) Sloppy Joe. And it sounds good so I’m posting the recipe for that too. Why? Because I can.

So here’s the recipe for the drink “Sloppy Joe”, which was a strong and exotic American recipe of post-war years.
1 measure (1 1/2 tbsp) Rum
1 measure (1 1/2 tbsp) Cognac
2 measures (3 tbsp) Pineapple Juice
2 Dashes of Cointreau
Shake all well with ice and strain into a goblet. Garnish with 1/s slice of orange and there you go.
Sounds good, doesn’t it? And by the way, we sell the Cointreau at the ABC store where I’m employed. It’s $19.95 plus tax for a pint and $39.95 for a fifth. Again, you’re welcome.
So go eat a Sloppy Joe, drink a Sloppy Joe and listen to Adam Sandler’s song about Sloppy Joes.
And have a great day. Take care.
Ubuntu!
