We’re now past the fifty-percent mark as it’s the seventh day of the world’s most eclectic blog series, the 12 (Dougie) Days of Christmas. And let’s be honest here. I really need to step things up and kick it up another notch. The first day was good, but the rest of the blogs so far? Does the term “going through the motions” ring a bell? I’m going to try and work on that.

So what’s going on? It’s raining and it’s cold. It’s Wednesday and it’s only seven, maybe eight more shopping days until Christmas. I guess I probably should get started on my Christmas shopping soon then. Candy canes full of liquor, gift cards, and intimate favors it is then. Last-minute panic shopping is always the best kind. I’ll try and get something legit and special for the mother-figure, my cat, and the Bro-son’s ever so awesome mini-me, but everyone else. Liquor or a bro-hug. I’m such a sentimental sap sometimes. Are you ready to start this? Where my Magic Bag at?

And now, we reach into the infamous Magic Bag and the topics for today are One & Done, Sharp Dressed Man, and Elf. This might be interesting, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see how it turns out. Let’s do this…

One & Done…

I’m not sure what I could have been thinking about when I added this one to the Bag oh so long ago. I must have heard someone say something about something being “one and done” and it caught my attention and now, here we are. I guess the definition of one and done would be that you’re only doing something time, period, regardless of the outcome and circumstances. It’s kind of like most hook-ups via social media, or at least how they’re supposed to be. Connect, meet up, have fun, and leave, never to be seen again. But most of mine aren’t that way. It’s connect, meet up, have fun and then a week later, they’re in my inbox again, wanting to go Round 2 or more. But that’s not ordinary. That’s because I have skills and like the X-Man Wolverine, I’m the best there is at what I do. Don’t believe me? Prove me wrong then. And I can’t think of any other purpose for a “one and done”. I guess we’ll move on then.

Sharp Dressed Man…

Remember the song by ZZ Top? I’ll play the video here. It rocked. And now, let’s move on to the final topic.

ELF…

I have to admit, I hate this movie. It’s a Christmas classic and I get that, but there is something about Will Farrell that makes me want to smack him in the face with an iron skillet. He’s funny sometimes and the movie, has some good moments, but I just don’t like him. Bob Newhart though, is awesome. If I watch the movie, it’s to see him and not Farrell. Probably the fact that this movie has been airing on TV every day for the last three or so weeks (at least) and is impossible to get away from doesn’t help either. I like elves. Ernie, from the Rudolph cartoon, was a personal hero of mine. Okay, maybe not, but the way he de-toothed the Abominable Snowman, that was awesome. But a 6’4 half-breed elf played by Will Farrell? I’ll pass.

And I guess that’s it for today. I talked about stepping up my game and not just going through the motions to get the job done and then I wrote this. Oy vey! Well, maybe we’ll start that tomorrow. As for now, let’s call it a day. It’s time to go get ready for work and maybe do a Wrestling Q&A. Have a great day and stay safe. Watch out for the crazies and the Corona. Make every day a Day of Dougie and your life will be fulfilling and complete. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome. Merry Christmas and I love ya. Mean it.
