I can’t sleep. Let’s do the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready? And away we go.
Arn Anderson versus Tully Blanchard. Do you want to see it?
Tully has evidently talked about stepping into the ring with Arn Anderson and while it is intriguing, I don’t think it’s very likely to happen or a good idea if it does. Arn has limited use of one of his arms and would be extremely limited in whatever he could do. Tully looks to be in great shape and I have no doubt could still go, but this match would be so limited and require so much smoke & mirrors to make it work, I don’t think it’s worth the trouble. But then again, it is Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson, two legit legends and original members of the Four Horsemen, so a match between the two might actually be fun to see. What the hell. Do it AEW. Let the old guys show all the kids how it’s supposed to be done.
Why doesn’t AEW do two main shows where the roster is split? It’s not like it couldn’t work.
And be accused of trying to be like WWE who, as you know, have two main shows and a split roster. I think the current method of Dynamite, Rampage, & Elevation on YouTube works quite fine for now.
Who’s better: Edge or Chris Jericho?
As much as I like Edge, I think Jericho has mastered the art of staying relevant and reinventing himself better than almost anyone in pro wrestling history. I would pick Jericho.
Does Shane McMahon belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
I would say yes to this. Shane has always been a good, solid performer for WWE and has taken some ridiculous bumps over the past twenty years, as well as taken part in several memorable storylines. Even if he was not a McMahon, his body of work is good enough, in my opinion anyhow, to warrant a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Thoughts on Vince McMahon and “the egg” at Survivor Series and RAW?
I understand why the whole fiasco with the “$100,000,000 Egg” happened. Netflix paid WWE a lot of money to help promote the Rock’s new movie and this was WWE’sway of doing so. But it was stupid. A Vince appearance wasted on this crap? Oy vey! If anyone wants a significant incident to prove Vince is out of his mind, this should do it. Did Vince Russo sneak in the back and change the scripts? Hell, even Russo wouldn’t write something this dumb. It’s just a big waste of time for everyone concerned and we should never speak of it again. Never.
The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) w/ Captain Lou Albano versus The Usos. Who wins?
It’s the father and uncle versus the sons and this would be a fun match to see and an interesting clash of styles to be sure. I can just imagine the Captain Lou promos to set this thing up. As for the match itself, I’m sure Afa and Sika taught the twins quite a bit that they know, but I doubt they taught them everything they know. Respect thy elders or get an ass-whooping. Jimmy and Jey would get a spanking and then be sent to time out. The Wild Samoans would win.
Thoughts on the verbal exchange between CM Punk and MJF on AEW Dynamite.
An awesome pair of promos that were well done, to the point, full of great shots, and have made me excited to see what comes next with MJF and CM Punk. If the Punk/Eddie Kingston promos were a home run, this is a grand slam. Punk has admittingly lost a step in the ring since his return after a 7-year hiatus, but his talking game is spot on. And MJF, the same can be said for him. The segment on Dynamite ran nearly twenty minutes but felt like just a couple of minutes at most. Very well done by both men and this will be hard to top. That being said, I think Punk and MJF can do it and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what happens next.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions you may have are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care of yourself and stay good. I’ll see you at the matches.
