Another edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A? You betcha! Enjoy!
Do you truly think that Bray Wyatt’s best days are of the past?
Unless there is a major reinvention of the Bray Wyatt character, I do believe that his career will keep becoming less and less relevant as each week and month passes. The Cult Leader evolved into The Fiend and the Fiend has faltered into whatever they’re trying to do now. Bray needs a major reboot and in this case, maybe to devolve back into the cult leader. That character worked and everything since, not so much. I like Bray and I think if he can work out the bugs and just get one good angle going, he can be a top guy for the WWE once more. But unless some major changes do happen, his best days are definitely behind him and that’s a shame. He could be so much more.
Who are the 4 pillars of WWE?
When you’re talking about a company with over sixty years of history, it’s hard to name just four people, but I’ll try. I’ll keep it within the ranks of the current roster as to who the four major players are right now. Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, and The Miz.
Should Dominic break away from The Judgement Day, denounce his Mysterio name, become a Guererro and if available bring in Vickie and Chavo?
That would make an interesting twist on the whole Dom-Rey feud and would love to see Vickie and Chavito pop up and get involved. I don’t think he needs to break away from Judgement Day just yet though. To do so would make him a babyface most likely and it’s too early for that and would kill his momentum. But the whole becoming a Guerrero part, I like. That would be the ultimate sign of disrespect for his dad and family. Adding Chavito and Vickie to the mix, especially with both of them being such great heels, would be awesome as well. Can you imagine a Vickie/Dom romance? Can you imagine the heat for that? But keep Rhea & friends in the mix as well. They’re an important part of the product and help.
If there’s one surprise at WM what would YOU like it to be?
I would like it to be Disco Inferno crashing the show, going to the ring, and insisting that all the fans are only watching Wrestlemania because they want to see the Disco Inferno dance. Just imagine the heat. And then have someone, maybe R-Truth, come to the ring and toss Disco to the floor. It’d make for a great moment. But if that isn’t the case, and most likely it isn’t, how about Bobby Lashley comes to the ring, doing an open challenge, and that challenge is answered by Matt Cardona? He’s made the offer to be Lashley’s opponent and it would be a great surprise for everyone if WWE took him up on that and he showed up.
What do you want Dom to do after he beats his deadbeat dad?
Win a championship, most likely the tag team titles with Damian Priest, and have a storyline affair with Vickie Guerrero. Just imagine the heat. That would be awesome!
Should AEW bring in Goldberg as a surprise opponent for MJF?
It would make for a memorable AEW moment, but I can’t see Goldberg and MJF having any kind of good match, so my answer to this would be a big no.
Logan Paul’s WWE contract expires after Wrestlemania. Should WWE try to keep him?
If WWE can keep Logan Paul, they should make every reasonable effort to do so. The guy has been great so far at everything he does and adds to the product, plus this helps him to expand his brand as well. It’s a win-win for everyone and I hope it continues.
What defunct wrestling promotion would you like to see come back Under New Management?
Well, I saw where Kevin Sullivan, Gangrel, and Bill Alfonso are attempting to bring back Championship Wrestling From Florida as a strong independent promotion and that sounds really cool to me. I’ll be watching to see how things go. As for the one I’d personally like to see return, how about Jim Crockett Promotions? They already teased a return of sorts with Flair’s Last Match show, promoted by Conrad Thompson, who then gave the copyright for JCP to David Crockett after the Flair show. So why not have Crockett, Conrad, and maybe Jim Ross or Arn Anderson wet up a weekly TV show and maybe two-three cards a week and run the Carolina’s again like a territory? Bring back Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. I know it’d do well and I’d love to see it again.
If you could change the outcome to any major match in history, which would it be? What would you do differently?
How about the “Fingerpoke Of Doom” angle where Hulk Hogan poked Kevin Nash in the chest and then pinned him to recapture the WCW Championship? How about instead, Hogan pokes Nash and Nash goes down? Hogan goes to cover, but Nash rolls him up instead with a cradle to get a pin. Nash doublecrosses Hogan and keeps the belt. Then Scott Hall joins the fun and they decimate Hogan, laying him out. Then Nash has a strong run as a heel WCW Champion while Hogan is stretchered out never to be seen again.
Let’s get the real answer. Did Rick Steamboat turn on Paul Jones or did Paul Jones turn on Rick Steamboat? Who was the bad guy in that infamous moment?
Up until the day he passed away, Paul Jones claimed in every interview and every statement when asked, that he did not turn on Steamboat, but instead, Steamboat, who was jealous of Paul and his great career and success, turned on him. Maybe he was just doing kayfabe, but hell, if he could keep it up as long as he did, who am I to argue and disagree? So Steamboat turned on Paul. And there you go.
Word has it Tony Khan has given Christian Cage the green light to appear at Wrestlemania for one night only to complete The Brood reunion should it actually happen. That would be so cool. Thoughts?
Given how fickle Tony Khan is about WWE, I find this hard to believe and haven’t seen it confirmed on any reputable website as of yet. But if it was to happen, it would indeed be “so cool”, as you said. I doubt it will happen, but to be honest, I hope you’re right about this. I would love to see it.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, it’s time to wrap this up and call it a day. I’ll be back later with a Casper column, but I think right now, I’m ready for a nap. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
