Yes, it’s another edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I have three guys here putting in a new bathroom and I’m kind of stuck here at the computer so why not keep busy, right? I’m Doug, your Party Host and Guiding Light. Welcome to the show. Let’s roll.
Jesse Ventura says that he’s been talking to WWE now that Vince McMahon is gone. Would you like to see “The Body” back in WWE and if so, in what role?
While I wouldn’t mind seeing Jesse back for the occasional one-shot, maybe doing commentary at a special event or even making the occasional cameo doing an episode of The BodyShoppe or whatever his show was called, I can’t see any kind of long-term role for Jesse. He’s moved beyond wrestling and has been removed from the current product for so long, that it just seems to me that it could be a disaster waiting to happen. Plus Jesse is a controversial dude and his regular presence as part of WWE could cause some issues for some people.
So is Tony Khan another Dixie Carter? Yes or no?
Nope. At least Dixie was able to take a bump from Bully Ray and make it look convincing. Tony and those bumps from The Elite? Not so much.
Tony Khan gets nailed with a spiked piledriver and then gets up and walks it off, totally no-selling the move. Thoughts?
Tony has not been trained to take bumps and doesn’t know how to sell, nor did anyone bother to show him or tell him to do it any differently. The whole scene was a joke and a trainwreck.
Ivan Koloff versus The Undertaker. Who wins?
While it would be interesting to see Uncle Ivan take The Undertaker to school and place him under the learning tree, the end of the match would see The Undertaker have his arm raised in victory.
The Undertaker recently said that he believes that the WWE should introduce a Women’s Intercontinental Championship and a Women’s United States Championship. Thoughts?
While I can understand the reasoning behind this statement, I would disagree. The WWE Women’s roster is excellent and probably the strongest it’s ever been right now, but they don’t need new titles. More belts are never the answer. Less is more and three Women’s titles, plus the tag team belts are more than enough.
After watching last night’s Dynamite could you see Tony and Shad bringing in Jinder Mahal, Veer, Sanga, and even Great Kali to avenge Tony and form a stable? I know I’m way out there with guesses, but is it possible?
It’s possible, but I seriously doubt that will happen. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Jinder show up at some point in AEW, but I don’t think it will have anything to do with Tony’s revenge against the Elite. No, I don’t think that will happen.
MJF has been off television since losing the AEW title, and his absence has made me wonder if he would be of any value to WWE at this time. Their roster is stacked; I feel like he wouldn’t offer much right now. What’s your take on this?
When and if MJF signs with WWE and is added to the roster, he will be presented as a big deal and treated accordingly. It doesn’t matter how much he is or isn’t on AEW TV at this point. WWE knows what MJF has to offer and he’ll be positioned to make an impact from Day One if he becomes part of the WWE family.
What do you think Roman Reigns’ legacy in the wrestling business will be once he’s done with WWE and is presumably off to Hollywood?
Roman has made his mark in the WWE as the Tribal Chief and with a great run as the WWE Universal Champion. His legacy is and will continue to be strong regardless of if he ever does anything else. His legacy is secure.
Now with Triple H in charge – do you see a potential chance for Jim Cornette to get back into the business whether with WWE or AEW or TNA?
Jim Cornette has the two most successful wrestling podcasts on the air today, plus runs a very successful business with his Cornette Collectibles, all from his home. He doesn’t have to travel or even leave his house. I can’t see him giving up his life to be part of any wrestling company again, be it WWE, AEW, TNA, or anyone else. Triple H may be able to convince Cornette to do some interviews for WWE documentaries and maybe accept a Hall of Fame induction at some point, but anything more than that, I just don’t see it happening.
Are there any non-wrestlers that you think Triple H should bring back into the WWE fold that may have been grabbed by AEW or TNA: Jim Ross, Arn Anderson, etc?
No one comes to mind. I could see Jim Ross being offered a Legend’s Deal and coming back to work on projects for the WWE Network and special events. Most of the names that were grabbed by AEW or TNA as you say are content with their lives and careers as they are. If they want to return, I’m sure Triple H would find a place for them and a way to accommodate them.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
