Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Blood & Guts, EC3, Sammy Guevara & More
March 22, 2020
Good morning. It’s time to clear out the inbox with a ton of questions about the world’s greatest entertainment that doesn’t involve midgets, motor oil, and Naked Twister, not unless Vince Russo is booking that is. Questions today come from The Cheese, Michael G. and a new face, Janis D. Welcome to the crazy house, Janis. Let’s do this.
Is AEW correct to postpone the Blood & Guts cage match between the Elite and the Inner Circle?
I think so. A match of this nature requires an audience to cheer and jeer and react to every move. It’s a historic and big event and it’s best to wait until the fans can be there to appreciate it. And besides, with the delay, the anticipation builds and will make things much more epic when the day finally does come and the pseudo-War Games becomes a reality.
Have you entertained any thoughts about doing a podcast or videos to talk about wrestling?
I could do videos, but I have a face made for radio. I could do podcasts, but I talk too fast and sound like, to me anyway, a countrified goober. I’ve done podcasts before, guesting on the SMF Cyberspace podcasts, and it was fun although out of my comfort zone big time. I’m sure that as time goes on, I’ll be doing both podcasts and videos. My bro-son is going to force me to take that next step. But I prefer to stick to the written word and write.
Would EC3 be better off to try and go back to Impact Wrestling or AEW?
I’m sure that the money, even if not being used properly, is far better in WWE, but for the sake of being a name-player and getting a push of any sorts, EC3 would probably be better off, when his contract expires, to talk to AEW, Impact or the NWA. He’s far better than how he’s being used by WWE right now.
Who is the greatest tag team of the past 5 years?
The B-Team of Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel. At least in my opinion. But so far as getting a push and having consistent matches where they actually get to win, I’d go with Jimmy & Jey, the Usos.
If you were quarantined in a home with three WWE superstars, who would you want it to be?
Does Ivory count? How about Juvi? I guess not since they’re not current WWE talent. Three talents from the current roster? How about R-Truth, Heath Slater, and Curtis Axel. If nothing else, it would never be boring.
What is the worst gimmick wrestler or team you’ve ever seen?
The Dicks, the Ding Dongs, the Gobbly Gooker, The Red Rooster, Adrian Adonis in a dress, Dustin Rhodes as ‘Seven’, Golga, etc. Shall I go on?
I could see Sting managing Darby Allen. Thoughts?
Sting is under a “Legend’s Contract” with WWE so he won’t be managing anyone in AEW anytime soon. And Darby? I can’t see that one at all.
Is Sammy Guevara the best thing in AEW wrestling right now or what?
Did you see Sammy sing Chris Jericho’s theme on Dynamite? He’s a prodigy who seems to be learning everything Jericho has to offer and will do anything to entertain. Sammy might not be the best thing in AEW right now, but he, along with MJF, Jericho and the Jurassic Express, is definitely at the top of the list.
Jesse Ventura & Adrian Adonis versus The Rock & Roll Express. Who wins?
The East-West Connection of Adonis & Ventura was an amazing team that combined power, technique, and charisma and dominated the AWA tag team scene. Forget the whole WWF Adrian Adonis that was fat, bloated, and wearing dresses. Adrian Adonis was a beast in that ring and one of the best talents working in the early ’80s. And with Ventura doing the power moves as his partner, this team was outstanding. The Rock & Roll Express and their legacy speak for itself and as the babyfaces in peril, no team was better than Ricky & Robert. It’d be a great match and an excellent contrast in styles. I think that when the final bell rings though, Adonis & Ventura would manage to come out on top.
