Welcome to a Wrestlemania halftime show edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. These questions, courtesy of loyal follower and true Texan Larry M., have been sitting around in my inbox for over a week and I just remembered them. Oops! My bad! But better late than never. So here you go, Larry. Let’s do this…
Have you ever heard of Stella Mae French? Thoughts?
I have heard of Stella Mae French and remember her quite well. She was an answer to a “Who Am I?” question I did back in the day when I wrote the “Tossing Salt – Worldwide News” column for Wrestle-Zone.co.uk. Stella Mae, real name Tanya West, was a retired wrestler who was brought into World Class Championship Wrestling in 1984 to aid her “niece”, Sunshine in a feud against Jimmy Garvin & Precious. Sunshine left the company and her foul-mouthed, truck driving, kick-ass Aunt came in to take her spot. French teamed with Chris Adams for a while to take on Garvin & Precious and then later had a short feud with Gino Hernandez & Nikla Roberts, who later would be known as Baby Doll. Stella left WCCW not long after Sunshine returned and went back into retirement so far as I know. She passed away a few years ago, but I haven’t been able to find many details. Think of an older female Steve Austin and there you go.
The Young Bucks have been named the Tag Team Of The Decade by Meltzer & The Wrestling Observer. Agree or disagree?
Disagree. They suck! Just ask Jim Cornette. He’ll tell you. And the Usos and Revival would both kick their asses.
Roddy Piper versus Jon Moxley. Who wins?
The crazy, unorthodox one. Gotta go with Piper on this one.
Braun Strowman versus Blackjack Mulligan. Who wins?
Braun is big and he’s strong, but I think that the Hall of Famer and father of Barry and Kendall would easily take Braun out behind the barn and give him a first-class Texas spanking. Blackjack wins.
Should WWE expand the PC and make it bicoastal and international?
Absolutely. And have the developmental talents work at all the PC’s under all the different trainers to learn different styles and techniques. The more, the merrier.
Whatever happened to former WCW wrestler Alan Iron Eagle?
Alan Iron Eagle made his debut in WCW and actually had a pretty good career for several years, but perhaps you know him under a different name. Joe Gomez. He worked off and on in WCW until right before they were bought out by WWE and then moved on to work the Indy circuit. He still continues to work the occasional match in Florida and is semi-retired.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts or questions, feel free and drop me a line. Until the next time, take care and stay safe. I’ll see you later. It’s time to go watch Mania, Night 2.
Ubuntu!
