Good morning and welcome to the best damn Q&A about professional wrestling ever, the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. At least five times a week and nothing is off-limits. Yeah bro, we rock! How’s that for an intro? Works for me. Let’s get busy and do this.

With so many people on the AEW roster, could you name 10 contracts you wouldn’t renew if you were Tony?

From what I understand, the AEW talent cuts have already begun with several names not up for renewal. If Tony was to give me a call and ask who I would take off the roster, my suggestions, from right off the top of my head, would be Marko Stunt, Angelico, Chavo Guerrero, Lio Rush, Luther, Michael Nakazawa, Peter Avalon, Leva Bates, Red Velvet, and Serpentico.

Do you think the Mustafa Ali situation could be a work? He gets into a reported huge argument with Vince, asks for his release, doesn’t get it, and is basically being held as a hostage. Sounds stone-cold/anti-authority figure to me.

It could be worked that way and would be interesting to see, but to be honest, I don’t think WWE is that creative anymore and can book that far ahead. WWE is keeping Ali around to keep him from going anywhere else because they don’t want to admit that they screwed up with using his character. Keep him shelved and buried and maybe people will forget.

In your opinion who is the best 3 wrestlers bell to bell right now?

I’ll go with The American Dragon Bryan Danielson, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair.

If you could have had Meat Loaf do a wrestling theme for any wrestler, who would you choose and why?

Meat Loaf and his style of music would have made a great fit for Allisteir Black when he was in WWE. It would have gone well with Pac too.

What’s the funniest segment you have ever seen in the last 10 years?

When R-Truth came out to interrupt Brock Lesnar and declare himself as part of the Royal Rumble but then undeclared himself as part of the Rumble match, Brock Lesnar wasn’t the only one breaking out in laughter. I’ve rewatched that segment so many times and it never fails to get a smile, even now.

Do you think there’s a possibility of HHH leaving WWE and starting a new company?

If HHH was to leave WWE right now, he’d risk losing his family, marriage, and children and I don’t think that is going to happen. The only way we’ll see HHH start a new promotion is if WWE is sold by the McMahon family to someone else and HHH decides afterward to start up a small company. But so long as the McMahons own WWE and HHH is married to Steph, he’s not going anywhere.

Which actor or actress would you like to have been involved in a match and with who?

An actor who I would like to be involved in a wrestling match? How about David Arquette, former WCW World Champion and star of the Scream movie franchise, challenging NWA World Champion Trevor Murdoch? And I could be in Arquette’s corner to give advice, interfere, etc. That would be cool.

Who can WWE put the IC belt on and push to make the IC title matter again?

To make the belt larger than life again and matter in the overall scheme of things, it’s not so much the person as the booking, but I would suggest a top guy who is consistently pushed as a top guy or has the potential. Let’s go with Bobby Roode. Give him the IC belt, make him “Glorious” again, and have him defend the belt regularly and cleanly defeat the challengers while proclaiming how important that title truly is. It’s simple booking 101 and I think Bobby Roode would be a great one to use to get the job of putting the IC title over again.

Who is the best tag team to never win the titles?

The best regular tag team that never won tag team gold together? Right off the top of my head, I’d go all the way back to the late ’80s and WCW and the team of Barry Windham & Ric Flair. Both men were more singles stars than tag team wrestlers, with Flair being the NWA/WCW World Champion and Windham as the U.S. Champion, but go back on The Network or Peacock and watch Clash Of The Champions 4, from December 7, 1988, and watch Flair and Windham take on the Midnight Express. The match was awesome and Ric & Barry were great as a team. Why they never held any gold, I understand, but they could have easily done so and done it well.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, watch out for the foreign objects, take care, and be safe. I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
