Little Things Mean A Lot…

As I was sitting here, watching a replay of the Miz TV segment from this past Monday Night RAW, something popped into my head. Let me start off by saying that the Miz is awesome. He’s a great talker, a good in-ring performer and probably one of the best true “heels” in the business of wrestling today. And the recent additions of Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel as his “Miztourage”, along with wife Maryse, just add to the character so much. Miz claims to be an “A-Lister movie star” and having his own entourage makes sense. That he’s also arguably the top heel on RAW these days and uses the services of Maryse, Dallas and Axel to help protect him and his Intercontinental Championship adds to the character even that much more. But as good as they are, something is missing. And I finally realized what it is. Miz needs some midgets.

Just picture this. The “Miztourage” comes to the ring, along with Miz. There is Maryse. There is Curtis Axel. There is Bo Dallas. And then, from the back come two “little people!”. One can be a guy with an attitude and a tuxedo. The other, a female midget who dresses exactly like a mini-me version of Maryse. It’s just so tasteless and tacky, imagine the heat it would generate. And for someone who’s as much a sleaze as Miz’s character is, it would be perfect. Use them as distractions for the matches or when Miz wants to send a message to someone, he can send it by his own personal “Mizget”. And as a back-story, the mini-me Maryse and the real Maryse can compete for Miz’s affections and attention. The stories write themselves. It needs to be done. #MidgetsForMiz. Make it happen, Vince.

And speaking of the little people of professional wrestling, here is something else that needs to happen. The WWE brought back the Cruiserweights with the Cruiserweight Championship tournament, aka the Cruiserweight Classic and then 205 Live. Then they went to Europe and crowned the first ever WWE UK Champion. And now, the much heralded Women’s Division is getting an event of it’s own with the Mae Young Invitational. So what’s next?

How about the return of midget wrestling? Why not do a tournament of the best little people and midget performers in the world of wrestling today? Call it the Coconut Willie Memorial or the Lord Littlebrook Invitational Tournament or whatever they want. Just bring back the little people. It was a big part of wrestling back in the 70’s and it could be big again. Hornswoggle could be brought back to be the “Commissioner” or whatever. It really needs to happen.

So plans for the WWE to add a little excitement to the product, bring back the midgets. Two for Miz and his “Miztourage” and then twenty four or so for a little man event for the ages. It’d make money. It’d generate ratings. And people would talk. And isn’t that really all that matters? I think so.
