Wrestling Q&A

You’ve got questions and I have the answers. It’s all about the world’s greatest sport, professional wrestling. And go…

Who are your top five superstars in wwe right now (past month’s work). Selection criteria includes but is not limited to:
Ring skills, Mic skills, Charisma, and Entertainment factor.

For the past month or so, my five top superstars for WWE would be, in no particular order, Kevin Owens, the Miz (and Miztourage), Alexa Bliss, Braun Strowman (that match with Big Show was great) and Roman Reigns.

Anyone else looking forward to No Mercy? Maybe finally having a Universal Champion who isn’t a part timer?

So long as the “part timer” is Brock Lesnar, I’m good with it. And I don’t think that No Mercy will be the end of his reign, not unless Paul Heyman does a turn and goes with Strowman. As good as Braun has gotten, he’s not ready to be “the man” yet and I think Brock will remain champion for at least several more months until Wrestlemania.

I dig the “feel good/living his dream” story as much as the next guy, but how the fuck does James Ellsworth still have a slot in WWE?

Because he’s well liked, does what he’s told to do and adds to the whole “Carmella” character with his presence. Remember, Hornswoggle had a job for nearly ten years before leaving WWE and David Otunga still has a job. Ellsworth still has something to offer and so long as he does his job and doesn’t create any waves backstage, he should be around for a while.

Would anyone else like to see The Hurricane return to WWE? He’s still in great shape and I think the character would have a lot to offer today’s WWE.

From what I understand, Shane Helms had had some medical issues and probably couldn’t (and wouldn’t) want to handle a full time WWE schedule anymore as an in-ring performer. If Helms was to return, it would be as an announcer or maybe a manager. I could see Helms as the GM of 205 Live. That would be a good role for him. But unless it’s in a speaking role and not active wrestling role, I don’t see a return of “The Hurricane” any time soon.

Anyone here miss Aksana?

Bad character with bad fake accent that kept hitting on Teddy Long, had cheesy music and was pretty bad and awkward in the ring? Nope, don’t miss her at all and until I saw this question, had totally forgotten about her. My bad!

Is Maryse really pregnant with child or not?

From all reports, yes she is pregnant and her and Miz will soon be parents. Congratulations to the happy couple.

Anybody else think WWE dropped the ball with TJP?

I think that WWE has dropped the ball on the whole Cruiserweight Division and 205 LIve entirely. From a bad time slot to lack of character development of the characters (most of them anyhow) to how they’re presented and so on. There is still so much talent and potential there and 205 Live can be saved and the cruiserweight division can be salvaged and made to be important, but it will take a lot of changes, effort and work. And TJP is so good, he could be one of the top guys leading the way if booked and used correctly. So did WWE drop the ball? Absolutely. Can they pick it up and get to moving again? Absolutely. They just have to get going and make changes and pick up their game.

In a 8 man tag team match who would win the 4 Horsemen vs the Fabulous Freebirds and Harley Race, who y’all got?

I can’t really imagine Race and the Freebirds as a unit. Hayes is all show and sizzle while Race was no nonsense and business, but for the sake of argument, we’ll put Race together with Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy and Buddy Roberts on one team. And while you didn’t specify which group of Horsemen, I’ll go with the Hall of Fame edition of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard and Barry Windham, accompanied by James J. Dillon. As for who would win, the fans and audience watching this match take place as eight of the very best in the world, nine if you include J.J., go at it. And at the end of the match, my money would be (always) on the Horsemen to use a distraction by Dillon to allow Arn Anderson to lay out Buddy Roberts and get the pin for his team. Diamonds are forever and so are the Four Horsemen.

And there you go. That’s all for now. Questions, comments and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Let me know what you think. And until the next time, I’m down and gone. Take it light.
