Laurinburg City Council Elections – Please vote Mary Evans, James Garby, Frank Evans. No New City Hall!

Happy 81rst Birthday to my Mom, Evelyn Brannan Rushin. Love you Ma.

And now, I’ve been on the go all day and need to get ready for work. But before I do that, I think it’s time to get political for a bit with what we here at the site call “Opposing Views”. The questions come from the left-leaning political site, “Opposing Views”. The answers are all me. Let’s do this…

Would you vote for Bernie Sanders if he ran against Trump in 2020?

I’d vote for Bernie before I would Hillary, but to be honest, he isn’t much better. He loves to give away free stuff, but has no idea how to pay for any of it. The man has never held a real job in his entire life and is a career politician who will tell you anything you want to hear, but isn’t worth anything beyond that. So my answer would be, “Nope!”.

Nancy Pelosi says Trump doesn’t act anything like a president should. Is she right?

She is right because Trump, unlike the previous 44 men to hold that office, isn’t a career politician. He is a businessman first and looks at the bottom line on things rather than playing the politically correct games that most politicians do. He’s making his own way and own path as President, blazing his own trail. He doesn’t act like past Presidents because he’s not them – he’s Donald Trump. What you see is what you get and thank goodness for it.

Do you think the words “In God We Trust” should always stay on American money?

The United States was founded on Christian values and even though we promise freedom of religion in our Constitution, we are one nation, under God. If that offends anyone, they can get over it and just send all their money to me. Otherwise, don’t worry about it and leave our money, and the sayings on it, alone.

Do you think Michelle Obama would be a great president?

I honestly don’t know since she’s never held any kind of political office or ran a business or shown any kind of leadership skills in any way, shape or form. But based on her public comments in the past, plus the dubious people she’s known to associate with, I would say probably not.

Colin Kaepernick just filed a huge lawsuit against the NFL. He says teams are ILLEGALLY leaving him unsigned. How would you respond to him?

Colin, by his actions, has shown that he puts himself before his team. He has publicly embarrassed the teams he’s played for and shown himself to be a disruptive influence to team moral and a distraction from the game they’re hired to play. Anyone that would sign him is just asking for trouble and headaches. And there are better quarterbacks out there and no one can be forced to hire a second-rate Quarterback and pay them millions of dollars. Who the teams hire is the choice of the owners and coaches and who they feel would be the most beneficial to the team and organization. Colin made his bed and now, he’s suffering the consequences of his actions. He needs to just suck it up and get over it and quit being a crybaby.

Agree or disagree: Whoever wins the most votes in an election should be president.

Disagree. The founders of our nation established the Electoral College for a reason, so that all Americans would have a fair say on who is elected to be our leader. If we used the popular vote, only California and New York, since they’re the states with the largest populations, would have a say and only their votes would matter. Our system works and majority rules is not always the best way to do things. Presidential elections are one of those things.

President Trump just challenged Hillary Clinton to a 2020 election rematch. Who would get your vote: TRUMP or CLINTON?

Definitely President Trump.

Should we keep Guantanamo open and put all terrorists there?

Only if the terrorists imprisoned there include Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid and Barack Obama.

Chelsea Clinton wants to run for Senate. Would you vote for her?

Let her prove herself first by holding a job, doing charity work, being a leader, etc. Just being named Clinton isn’t enough. Show actual skills and qualifications first and then, if she decides to run for political office, she can do it because she’s qualified and not just because she feels entitled.

Which First Lady do you admire most: Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton or Melania Trump?

I like Melania, but of the women listed, I think Laura Bush was the best First Lady of them all.

And there you go. I have to go get ready for work now. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts and questions are welcome. And until the next time, take care and I’ll catch you later. Have a great day.

Ubuntu!
