Tossing Salt Presents:
Pro Wrestling Q&A
November 21, 2017
Let’s make this short and sweet. I have to go take my favorite brother to an appointment and it’s freakin’ cold out there. I’m procrastinating, but I don’t have time to be doing that or this. I’m doing it anyhow. It’s the wrestling Q&A. (It’s either this or the all-political “Opposing Views”). Let’s talk some rasslin’.
If you could relive any pro wrestling decade (50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 00’s) which one would it be and why?
Most likely the 80’s. That’s the time I remember best where kayfabe was still (mostly) alive, the characters were surreal and the action was great with stories that made sense. There was definitely some over-the-top action, but here in the Carolina’s mostly, it was solid in-ring wrestling, the beginning of the rise of Ric Flair and just the best of everything in my opinion. The early 80’s was a great time to be a wrestling fan and I truly cherish my memories of those days.
Who do you think will end Asuka’s undefeated streak?
Looking up and down the current rosters of both RAW and Smackdown Live, I think that when and if the streak ends, it will be Charlotte that takes the honors.
If Mahal ends up winning the title back on SmackDown, would you be annoyed that Styles won it purely so Styles vs Lesnar could take place?
Nope. I’ll just be happy that Jinder has gotten his WWE title back and is having another chance to prove himself as the WWE Champion.
Who didn’t get a match at Wrestlemania that you wish would have?
Very easy for me… The Disco Inferno. I have long had this dream in my mind that one day at Wrestlemania, we’ll see Vince McMahon (or HHH now) in the ring welcoming everyone to Wrestlemania and then the music of the Disco Inferno starts playing and he comes out to the ring to interrupt the scene. Disco gets the mic and he says that he knows that the only reason that everyone has come to see Wrestlemania is just to see the Disco Inferno dance. Imagine the facials on Vince (or Hunter’s) face. It would be a surreal Wrestlemania moment beyond comparison. I want to see it.
Was it just me or does Roman seem alot happier and more comfortable away from the main event scene? Seriously that was the best he’s been at in awhile last night.
I think that when Roman is out there with his buddies, Ambrose and Seth, the pressure isn’t quite as bad and he’s a lot more relaxed and less afraid of botching things up. Being “the Man” is a rough spot with a lot of pressure attached to it. I think Roman can handle it fine, but sometimes, it’s nice to just be a part of the group instead and let someone else have the spotlight. Definitely a lot less stress to be sure.
And that’s all for me now. Got to get to moving. Thanks for reading and I’ll catch you on the flip side. Have a great one.
