Opposing Views

I’d like to wish a very Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Now, let’s do this “Opposing Views” thing and get all political, shall we? The questions come from the Facebook page of a group called “Opposing Views”. The answers are from me. And I’m right and they’re not. Let’s do this…

Which leader acts more like a president: Bill Clinton or Trump?

One has sex with interns in the Oval Office. The other needs to stay off of Twitter, but otherwise tries to do what he promised the American people he would do if elected. So I’ll say… George Bush (either 41 or 43 – take your pick!)

Mike Ditka says that if he were still an NFL coach, any player on his team who kneeled for the anthem would be benched. Do you like or dislike his policy?

As players and representatives of the NFL team, they’re are employees and whatever the policy is for that team, so be it. If the boss (Coach) says that you do not kneel when the anthem is being played and you don’t listen, you pay the consequences as a result. Ditka feels that the players should stand while the National Anthem is being played and since he’s the boss, so be it. Stand up or else.

Trump has proven that he’ll do whatever he thinks is right — regardless of whether it makes some people uncomfortable. Is that a trait you like to see in a president?

He has the strength of his convictions and does what he feels is right. That is an extremely positive trait for any true leader to have. Be willing to fight for what you believe in. Definitely a good thing.

Observers noticed a major difference between the way Trump greeted the Japanese emperor compared to Obama. Who did it right: Trump or Obama?

President Trump stood talk and shook the hand of the Emperor while President Obama bowed. Since the American President is considered an equal in status to the Emperor, I think the shaking of hands was far better.

Are you proud or embarrassed to have Trump as America’s president?

While President Trump does have some qualities that I don’t particularly appreciate, I do respect the man and feel he is a far better person to have in our Oval Office than the previous occupant of that honored position.

Do you think Obama was a weak president?

I personally feel he was a poor leader, with bad policies that weakened our nation rather than strengthened it. A bad person? Not really, but a poor President? Definitely.

Use one word to describe the Trumps.

Rich!

Mississippi passed a ‘Blue Lives Matter’ bill that makes attacking police officers a hate crime. Do you support the policy?

I have never truthfully seen the reason to label something a “hate crime”… it is just a label and it’s either a crime or not. Sticking a label on it doesn’t make it any less of a crime or less terrible. Just enforce the laws on the book and give the appropiate punishments for crimes and leave it at that. Maybe that’s not all politically correct, but it’s just common sense. If I kill a random stranger because he’s there or if I kill a stranger because he’s gay, which is worse? Either way, they’re dead and I killed them. Just saying. But in regards to this bill, going after cops just because they’re cops is pretty messed up. So yeah, support or whatever. It’s good.

It’s time for Americans to come together and give Trump a chance to succeed as president. Do you agree or disagree?

If the President fails, we all suffer as a result. Everyone should want to see our President do well, regardless of who it is, because that means our nation, the United States, is doing well. Why can’t people get that.

In a new poll by The Cato Institute, 71% of Americans said they think political correctness is seriously damaging America. Do you think PC culture has gone too far?

This is the real world and things are not always going to be easy. People need to get over the political correctness B.S. and just be straight up and real instead. It has gone too far big time. No one can say or do anything because people have such thin skins and will be upset. Damn the being upset. If you don’t like what you hear, either move on with your life and ignore it or else do something about it. It’s like this site. I don’t do political correctness very well and if I write something that a person doesn’t like, don’t read my site or let me know (respectively) and we’ll have a discussion. But don’t expect me to bite my tongue or tip-toe around because you’re offended. Homie don’t play that. It’s just that simple.

And there you go. I have to go check now on my turkey in the oven. Thanks for reading. Thoughts and comments and any feedback is welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care and have a great one.
