Tossing Salt Presents:
Music Fact or Fiction
March 10, 2018
Are you ready to talk song, sounds and harmonies? Well, that probably won’t be here, but one can still hope. It’s time to do that Fact or Fiction thing, the music edition. The comments come from my good friends over at 411mania.com/music. And I’ll be doing the rest of it with my agreements or not as to how true the statement is. It’s what I do. And now, let’s do this…
Offset’s video “Ric Flair Drip” was very enjoyable.
FICTION: I watched it and while I always enjoy seeing the “Nature Boy” style and profile, all I could do is cringe and wonder just what in the hell was Ric thinking? It reminds me of the video by Ratt for “Round and Round” where Milton Berle was doing a cameo and then just kind of vanished. It was awkward and just didn’t seem right. And that’s the same feeling I get watching this. I hope Ric got paid well so something good came from all of this because the song does nothing for me and the video? If I never see it again, it’ll be too soon.
You’re interested in Rob Zombie’s 15-LP box set.
FICTION: I like Rob Zombie and all that, but 15 lps? I don’t think so. That’s too damn much of anyone or anything who’s name is not Alice, Waylon or Sammy Davis. I’m sure his die-hard fans will appreciate this, but I’m not one of them.
Judas Priest delivered with their new song “Never the Heroes.”
FACT: I listened and I liked. Rob Halford may not hit the high notes he used to, but his vocals are as good as ever and the man can rock hard with the best of them. It’s classic Judas Priest and I like it. Rock & Roll Bitches!!
Chance the Rapper’s collaborations with Kanye West and Donald Glover could be great.
FACT: It could be great. It also could suck balls. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how it goes and what they turn out. I’m not a big fan of any of the names mentioned so unless it’s related to a question for my site and one of these columns or else my brother hears it, likes it and tells me to listen, I’ll never know one way or the other. I really won’t care all that much either.
John Williams leaving Star Wars is a huge blow to the franchise.
FACT: The man is over 80 years old and has been doing Star Wars music for over forty years so it’s time for him to give it a break if that’s what he wants to do. It’s a big blow to the franchise to be sure, but they’ll survive. Star Wars will go on and live forever. ‘Nuff said!
You enjoyed Weird Al Yankovic’s “Hamilton Polka” medley.
FACT: It’s Weird Al and it’s a polka. How can one not enjoy it? Al always delivers.
And there you go. I’m through and it’s late so I’m going to bed now. Comments, thoughts and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, have a great night. Love ya – mean it.
