Music Fact or Fiction – March 17, 2018

Tossing Salt Presents:
Music Fact or Fiction
March 17, 2018

Good morning and Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all. It’s time to get all musical and lyrical and shit so are you ready? It’s the “Fact or Fiction” thing, music edition and I have a feeling that this will be a very short column. “And why is that?”, you ask. Because, looking at the questions, provided of course by my dear friends over at, most of the questions are kind of bleh this week and, for me anyhow, short and to the point responses will suffice. And the other reason is I feel like I’ve got a major week-long binge style hangover this morning. The funny thing about that is I don’t drink anymore and haven’t in nearly four years. And yet I work in a liquor store. Go figure. Anyway, my head hurts. Maybe typing up this will help. Or maybe it won’t, but there is only one way to find out so… Let’s get busy and do this.

Kanye West’s new album will be worth the wait.

FACT: Kanye can make some good music when he’s motivated and tries. Too bad he’s such an ass-clown and moron the rest of the time. He’s been taking his time on this new release and (thankfully) staying out of the public eye for the most part so I’ll give him the benefit of a doubt here. I’m sure that the new album will make his fans happy and will sell lots of copies. I won’t be buying it, but I’m not the audience he aims for so it’s all good in the hood.

Lil Wayne and Birdman will settle their issues by the end of the year.

FACT: In the end, it’ll come down to money and a settlement of some sort will be worked out. The back and forth lawsuits and other issues have to be a big money drain for both men and eventually, they’re going to realize that it’s better to just cut the ties and go their different ways, never the two shall pass again like strangers in the night.  My brother was telling me about these two idiots the other day and had me listen to some Lil Wayne songs.  Oh  vey!

Taylor Swift’s video for “Delicate” was stronger than her usual videos.

FICTION: I went and I watched and really didn’t notice anything special or out of the ordinary. Just another Taylor Swift song. Catchy, but nothing “stronger” that I could notice or see.

Ed Sheeran was the right winner of “Song of the Year” at the iHeartRadio Awards.

FACT: I don’t know for sure because I didn’t watch theiHeartRadio awards and to be honest, didn’t know they existed. Ed Sheeran is a good singer and songwriter and the two guys who do this stuff at both went into long comments about how much better his song was than the other nominees. I’ll take their word for it.

The ‘feud’ between 50 Cent and Conor McGregor makes them both look bad.

FACT: Two grown men acting like little school girls bickering and getting all petty and childish. What are either of them going to get out of this? 50 Cent isn’t going to get into the cage and fight McGregor. McGregor isn’t going to do a rap-battle with 50. So what the hell isn’t the point. Just a waste of time and space, kind of like McGregor and Fifty Cent if you think about it. Both men need to get off Twitter, focus on what it is that they do and please, just shut the hell up. Stupid idiots!

You’re interested in the Neil Young film Paradox.

FICTION: Not interested at all and could care less. ‘Nuff said!

And there you go. I’m through here, but thoughts and comments are welcome and appreciated. Thank you for reading. Until the next time, remember Alice Cooper Rocks! And rap is crap. Take care and I’ll catch you later.
