Tossing Salt Presents:
March 21, 2018
Good morning, salutations and all of that stuff. I hope that everyone is having a lovely morning. It’s cold and wet outside so be safe. And if you need me for anything, I’ll be at the liquor store. Just letting you know. As for now, let’s answer a few questions about the world’s greatest sport, professional wrestling. The questions come from Facebook and mostly the KoK (Kult of Kayfabe). And I’ve got the answers. Let’s do this.
So, as I know it, a lot of people didn’t like the choice of Kevin Nash ending Goldberg’s streak. If not Nash, who from the WCW roster at the time would you pick to end the streak?
The WCW roster was a big mess at the time and while there were plenty of top names in WCW, most were being used in a meaningless fashion and just riding out the storms. I’ve looked over the list of people who were available on the roster in the last part of 1998 and to be honest, I can’t see anyone on there that, given the story lines and craziness that was WCW during this time, would be believable and be able to get a rub from ending the streak. It was all guys who were already over and established veterans of the business (meaning old) or young guys who were on their way (Jericho, Guerrero, Benoit, etc), but not quite ready to be the big guy for the company yet. So Nash did an ego thing and booked himself to beat Goldberg. The better option, at least at that point, in my opinion, would have been to let the streak continue and build up someone who would be believable and would actually benefit.
Does Bray Wyatt get repackaged or does he come back in a week or two and is the same character?
When Bray returns from his “deletion”, we’ll have a new and improved, different and repackaged version of the “Eater of Worlds”, as his connection to Sister Abigail will have been broken and he will have been reborn.
The “Mildred Burke Memorial Battle Royal”? Who else deserves it?
Mildred Burke would have been a great choice. Other names that come to mind are Penny Banner, Sherri Martel or Luna Vachon.
Who would you like to see on a second season of Legends House?
Does anyone else even remember “Legend’s House”? A reality show where several WWE wrestling legends live together in a house, kind of like “Surreal Life” from VH1 days, and are recorded 24-7. First off, unlike the first season, I’d mix it up with men and women for a Season 2. As for the personalities I’d include, I’d go with JBL, Ivory, Jacqueline, Mark Henry, Sean Waltman, Santino Marella and Howard Finkel.
Your thoughts on the #UltimateDELETION??
It was interesting and different and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I liked and enjoyed it. Now I’m just wondering what happens next and what will become of Bray Wyatt.
Here’s a question.. if it’s even possible to answer..What’s your favorite Wrestlemania match?
Wrestlemania III – Andre versus Hulk Hogan. Sure, there were better matches out there, but this match, with the hype, the legend, the two men competing, is the very definition and picture of what a “Wrestlemania Main Event” should be. On that day, all the stars were aligned just right and they got it perfect.
Six man tag team GOAT? I got Road Warriors and Dusty. Who you got?
There were and are a lot of great six-man tag teams in the history of pro wrestling, but the ones who made six-man tags cool and are the very reason that three-man teams starting forming were and are the very best. I’m talking about Buddy Roberts, Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy and Michael P.S. Hayes, the Fabulous Freebirds. They made six-man tag teams cool and everyone else came along later, just trying to keep up with the best.
What’s your favorite Hogan movie?
The one with Bubba the Love Sponge’s wife… It’s a multi-million dollar film. Just ask Hogan and the people at Gawker.
What former WWF/E Champions, World Heavyweight Champions, and WCW Champions will we NEVER see in the WWE Hall of Fame?
I think, with the addition of Jeff Jarrett to the Hall of Fame this year, the whole “never say never” line has been proven more true than ever, but if I was to wager a guess, I don’t think Scott Steiner will be getting any phone calls from the WWE anytime soon. I also don’t think that Vince Russo or David Arquette will have much of a chance of getting inducted. Aside from those three guys, and Arquette could still go in with the “Celebrity Wing” thing, I think that most everyone else still has a chance although some folks have a better chance than others. But anything can happen in the WWE so who knows?
And that’s all for today, my peeps. I have to finish getting ready for a long day of work at the ABC. Thanks for reading. Questions, comments and any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars. Have a great one.
