And now it’s time to tickle the light fandango and do that Fact or Fiction thing, the music edition. As per the usual, it’s not about Sinatra, Alice or even Murray Head, but we’re going to have fun anyhow. The comments below come from my friends at 411mania.com/music. I’m providing the rest of it. I’m ready for a new Joshua Kadison album. Let’s do this…

YouTube Music will be a big success.

FACT: I guess it all depends upon what you mean by “big success”, but it’s YouTube and they’ll make money and get lots of people subscribing. It’s a good move and expansion of their services and should do well.

T.I. was in the right after getting arrested at his gated community.

FICTION: I can’t say one way or the other because we just don’t know all the facts. Most likely, it’s just a case of both parties, the guard and T.I. over-reacting to what should have been a minor situation that ended up blowing up because of said over-reactions. There is video of the situation so we’ll probably find out the facts at some point, but for now, who knows really? I blame social media.

Meek Mill should have made his voice heard at President Trump’s prison reform summit.

FICTION: No one cares what Meek Mill has to say and even though he knows quite a bit about being sent to prison and getting in trouble with the law, if he had shown up, it would have became a political circus and focused more on his troubles than any actual issues that needed to be addressed. Who the hell is this guy anyhow except for a habitual criminal and rap-joke?

The ABC special on Michael Jackson’s final days is in poor taste.

FACT: I have to admit that I did not watch this and probably never will, but I’m going based on the reviews I’ve read as well as the commercials for the show. It all seems to be focused, from what I’ve seen and heard, on the habits, the death and the craziness and not the man or his music. In my opinion, the music is what matters here and the rest, not quite so much. Leave the man alone and let him rest in peace. It seemed to be questionable at best to me and I don’t think I’m the only one who feels that way.

Godsmack’s “Bulletproof” is a far cry from their earlier days.

FACT: I have to admit here that I’m not a big Godsmack fan, but the older stuff I remember from years ago was harder and more edgy. This new album, based on what I went to YouTube and listened to this morning, not quite so much. It’s okay I suppose, but it’s more a going through the motions deal than anything new or exciting, at least to me.

You enjoyed Donald Glover’s “This Is America.”

FACT: I went and listened and yes, I did like it. The song is somewhat preachy in my opinion, but Glover gets his message across and does so with a good tune and really good video. I’m not a big fan of Glover, but I did like this song and it’s probably one of the best I’ve heard him perform.

And that’s that for now. Questions, comments and song suggestions that I can listen to and enjoy are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time my friends, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars. Have a great one.
