Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Lacey Evans, Jinder Mahal, The Hardys & More
April 22, 2019
When it comes to talking about the world’s greatest sport, we all have questions. And I have answers. The infamous Jay from CT sent these ponderables. And now, it’s time to reply and respond. Let’s do this…
1.) Your thoughts on the NFL draft (if any)?
I have no thoughts on the NFL or the NFL draft. My interest in the NFL, with the exception of the Super Bowl, has become less and less over the past few years, mainly due to the political nonsense that seemed to dominate the news not so long ago. Yes Colin, your decision to bring politics to work and do that whole kneeling thing have lost the NFL a viewer and I’m not the only one. And you wonder why people think you’re a talentless third-string piece of crap and won’t give you a job. Bite me, knee-boy! So far as the draft thing, I didn’t watch and don’t care… period!
2.) Do you think Nikki Cross or Lacey Evans has a brighter future on the main roster long term?
Nikki has taken part in a few tag team matches and other than that, spends most of her time in catering eating chicken salad. Lacey, for several months, only had to walk out and then got inserted into a program challenging for the Women’s Championship and Becky Lynch. Definitely it looks as if Evans has the better future at least in the short run.
3.) Do you feel the Raw after Mania this year wasn’t as crazy as it usually is?
No beach balls. No “Bizarro World” chants, cheering for the heels and doing the wave. Compared to crowds of years past, the post-Mania crowd at RAW was pretty much dead on arrival. I agree, they sucked!
4.) With Smackdown being on Fridays starting in the fall how will WWE arrange NXT Takeover and the HOF next year?
I suspect that we’ll see NXT on Saturday, Mania on Sunday and the Hall of Fame on the Thursday night before the madness starts. Then you could have the Hall of Fame, Smackdown Live, NXT, Wrestlemania and end with RAW. I’m sure WWE has already looked at the situation and given it some thought and wil come up with some amazing solution. Or they could just move the Hall of Fame stuff to SummerSlam and avoid all of this chaotic crazy mess.
5.) Would you say the Jinder Mahal experiment was a failure looking at where he is now on the roster?
I guess so, but I still liked seeing Jinder as the WWE Champion and at the top of the card. I think they should give him another chance.
6.) Are you surprised the Hardy’s can still go as well as they can?
I’m surprised actually that Jeff can still walk at all given the stunts he’s pulled over the past twenty years, but he’s still going just like the little pink bunny rabbits in the commercials. Matt has slimmed down and is now a user of DDP Yoga which seems to be a miracle worker as far as adding years to the in-ring lives of professional wrestlers. I’m glad that they’re doing well and are healthy and hope that whatever they’re doing, they keep doing it so that they can be part of our lives for many years to come.
7.) Do you think Becky will lose the Raw or SD title first?
The RAW title seems to be the big prize with the Smackdown title seeming to be more of an afterthought than not so I’d suspect that it’s the blue branded belt that will leave “The Man” first.
8.) Looking back at Mania what’s the one match you were most pleasantly surprised by and least pleasantly surprised by?
The best surprise was the HHH versus Batista match. Those two men tore the house down and put on a damn good fight that no one had the right to expect. The one that was the biggest bomb to me and was less than excellent was Samoa Joe versus Rey Mysterio, which I understand was cut short due to an injury to Rey’s knee, but I still expected / hoped for more. And the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Having the SNL guys in there was bad enough, but then to have them as the semi-finalists, that was pretty lame.
And there you go. Thanks for reading. Questions, comments and thoughts are welcome. Until the next time, have a great one and stay just too sweet! See you later.
