Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Bruce Mitchell, The Dark Order, Pat Patterson & More
January 3, 2021
Are you ready to talk wrestling? It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
I don’t want to get too into it but what is wrong with Bruce Mitchell? How could he be so heartless and write the column he did about Jon Huber’s passing? And how could he be so callous as to, in essence, call Huber’s widow a liar?
I haven’t read the entire article in question, but have seen clips online and heard people speaking of this on Twitter and Facebook so this is merely speculation, but I think Mitchell was trying to be different and stand apart from every other article about Huber. He, unfortunately, decided to go with the “not Covid related” cause of death rather than focus on the family and the good person that was Brodie Lee. He showed the empathy of a great white shark in the midst of a feeding frenzy and made himself a total prick in the process. Who cares how Brodie died? That information will come out eventually and it’s not relevant except in the eyes of Bruce Mitchell. The man is dead and his family and friends are in mourning and how he died is all Mitchell cares about? And then when Huber’s widow replies, he calls her a liar. I’m glad Wade Keller fired him from the staff of the PWTorch and I think Mitchell would do well to stay away from any gatherings of wrestling fans and/or wrestlers for a while as well. He showed that he’s a piece of crap and like other pieces of crap, he should be flushed.
Though they have already honored him, do you think at the Rumble in January, they may do something special for Pat Patterson?
Since Patterson has long been acknowledged as the man who came up with the concept of the Royal Rumble, I don’t think that naming the Rumble after him and maybe presenting a “Patterson Cup” trophy to the winners to go along with their Wrestlemania main event spots would be too much to ask. I’d think honoring Patterson in some way at the Rumble would be a great idea.
One of the categories of the Slammys that I always wish was in but understand why it isn’t is the biggest transformation of a superstar…I was thinking this year people have really changed their character and I’m wondering who you think has changed the most… It may be someone different for you, but my thoughts are Roman, Alexa, Sheamus, Cedric Alexander, and Buddy Murphy.
My top picks for this would be either Bray Wyatt to The Fiend, Alexi Bliss to Sister Abigail, or Roman Reigns to the Tribal Cheif. It would be a good category for the Slammys.
What are your thoughts on AEW’s Tribute show to Brodie Lee?
Well done, an excellent show from start to finish, and it made my allergies act up several times as I watched the highlights on YouTube.
It seems to me that the Dark Order is now baby-faces. Should they feud with the Inner Circle? Your thoughts.
I think, with the Dark Order beating the Inner Circle last Wednesday night, that may already be in the works. If it was just that match, so be it, but think at the ending where MJF pulled the mask off of Brodie’s son, -1, and then got rocked with the kendo stick shot from the younger Lee. And then, later on Twitter, MJF commented as only he can do with a “Fuck that Kid!”. The seeds have been planted for a longer feud that could really take the Dark Order from comedy to the next level and while I don’t think that the Dark Order could or should win a feud of that magnitude, it could help really build the group and some of their members, especially John Silver, into major players. I’d love to see this happen.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, questions and anything else is welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care of yourself, stay safe, and I’ll see you at the matches.
