Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
The Inner Circle, Steve Austin, Sami Zayn & More
November 28, 2021
My family is driving me crazy. I miss my brother way much. And Vince McMahon is bat-shit crazy. Let’s do the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A.
Would Santana & Ortiz be better off if they left the Inner Circle? What about Sammy Guevera?
While being part of the Inner Circle was good for Santana, Ortiz, and Guevera when AEW first started, it’s more of an afterthought these days. And by the way, whatever happened to the Pinnacle? While I can see keeping the Inner Circle alive to give Santana & Ortiz back-up if there is outside shenanigans preventing them from winning a match, for the most part, the membership is more of an afterthought these days than anything else.
As for Sammy, when I think of him, I think more of the VLOG Crew than the Inner Circle as his group and back-up. I don’t want to see him formally leave the group, but I think his participation in the IC has been downplayed so much that it really isn’t a factor, one way or the other these days.
Under what circumstances will Fuego Dos be unmasked and we get Cody?
What does Cody have to do with Fuego Dos? Next thing you know, you’ll be trying to say that Dusty Rhodes was the Midnight Rider or that Jimmy Valiant was Charlie Brown. Cody IS NOT Fuego Dos. Cody is as much the masked Fuego Dos as Houk Hogan was Mr. America. It just isn’t so.
Which current NXT star would be super effective in AEW?
The first name that came to mind was Timothy Thatcher. The man is excellent in that ring, fairly good on the mic, and has all the potential in the world to be a big talent for AEW or WWE if they would allow him to show what he’s capable of. He’s definitely a man that fans should keep an eye on.
Do you see WWE trying to get Steve Austin to try and return for one last Wrestlemania next year? What would you do?
If Austin can pass medical tests and is willing to have a match at Wrestlemania and I was WWE, I’d say give me a hell yeah! But in all honesty, I doubt that Austin would be physically able to work a full match so I’d just give him an encounter with a heel that everyone loves to hate, The Miz for example, and then stunner and beer bash. It gives everyone a feel-good moment. Austin gets a Wrestlemania moment and the fans are happy. I’d probably book it that way instead of doing a match.
The Undertaker versus Andre the Giant in their prime. Who wins?
A match like this would have no winner. It’d be a DQ finish or a count-out or even a no-contest. Undertaker, in his prime, did not lose, and in his prime, neither did Andre. So they brawl to the floor, the referee counts both men out, and both men stay strong and keep their streaks alive.
What will happen with Brock Lesnar on WWE Smackdown next week?
Brock will raise hell, create chaos, and do one more little thing to get under Roman Reigns’ skin. Film at 11 and details in the next question.
Are you excited that Sami Zayn won the Battle Royal to get a shot at Roman Reigns?
I’m very happy for Sami. He’s a great character and very entertaining and I think that Friday night might just be his night, thanks to a certain Beast. Just imagine this. Roman is decimating Sami and is ready to put him away, but the music hits, and here comes Brock Lesnar towards the ring.
Brock lays out Jimmy & Jey Uso and Roman is distracted and forgets about Sami. Sami uses the most devastating move in sports entertainment, the surprise roll-up, and scores an upset pin. The referee counts three and the new Universal Champion is crowned. Brock lays out Roman while Sami celebrates with the belt. Then Brock lays out Sami. And the main event for the next pay-per-view, Day One, is a triple-threat for the Universal Championship with Sami Zayn, Roman Reigns, and Brock Lesnar. That sounds like a plan to me.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care and stay safe. I’ll see you at the traffic light.
