There’s been a lot of breaking news and craziness in the world of professional wrestling today. Yes indeed, it’s a mad, mad, mad world. Let’s talk about some of it with the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.

A new rumor making the rounds has Shane McMahon gathering up a bunch of ex-WWE guys and doing an Invasion angle against AEW. Thoughts?

No matter how mad Shane might be at his father for his “termination” from WWE, he’s not going to work with AEW and compete against the WWE in any way, shape, or form. A Shane-led invasion of AEW with folks like Braun Strowman, Windham Rotundo, and about five or six other former WWE talents would be exciting to see. I’ll be the first to admit that. It would blow up the internet and probably blow up the ratings for AEW as well. But it’s a pipe-dream and is not going to happen. Fantasy book if you’d like and maybe someone can write a story about it, maybe even me, but even in a world where anything can happen, this here is not.

Steve Austin versus Kevin Owens at Wrestlemania. Yay or nay?

If Austin feels physically healthy and wants to do it, then WWE should go for it and make it happen. I’ve been wondering what WWE has in store for Owens at Mania and now this rumor is breaking out. As much as I get annoyed at WWE sometimes over their booking, I would still absolutely tune in for this match. Book it, Vince.

Cody & Brandi Rhodes have left AEW. Why? And where do you think they’ll end up next?

This one caught me totally off guard, but the signs have been there for a while. Cody left WWE on good terms but wanted to prove himself as a top guy and build a legacy of sorts and with AEW, he did just that. AEW has grown by leaps and bounds and is reportedly a great place to work, but it’s not WWE and that’s the bottom line. With WWE, Cody has the chance to make more money, get TV deals with NBC Universal, be seen by more people, and headline Wrestlemania. For a guy who grew up in the business and essentially spent his entire career in WWE, that’s a big freaking deal, Mania. And Brandi has talked about wanting to wrestle more. Well, with WWE, the women are more skilled, better performers, and lack some star power at the moment. The addition of Brandi could add a much-needed shake-up to the Women’s Division, so that’s a plus as well. Why did they leave AEW? And why will they most likely be going back to WWE? Because to coin a phrase, it’s best for business. And to borrow another quote from a well-known movie, “There’s no place like home!”. ‘Nuff said!

Lita says that WWE has no plans for her after Elimination Chamber. Thoughts?

It’s probably a wait-and-see on how she performs at the Elimination Chamber and the reaction she gets, but if all goes well, I could see Lita doing a match at Mania. And who against, you ask? Well, Lita was the one who eliminated Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts Champion Mickie James at the Royal Rumble match, right? So how about Lita issues a challenge to fight Mickie for her title at Mania? All it would take is one phone call from Vince to make it happen. And the publicity for both WWE and Impact would be outstanding and great P.R. So I say it again, book it, Vince.

IF Bobby Lashley retains his title, who do you want him to face at WrestleMania?

If Lashley survives the Elimination Chamber event with the title intact, how about Lashley versus Edge at Mania? Who wouldn’t pop for that?

If Cody does end up back in WWE, who do you think from AEW will eventually follow him?

Dustin Rhodes has already said that he’s staying with AEW and is very happy there, but somewhere down the line, I could see Dustin making the move and working as a producer or trainer at the PC for WWE. Q.T. Marshall is very close with Cody, so a possible defection to WWE to work at the Performance Center isn’t out of the realm of possibility either. Cody was said to be a mentor to quite a few of the AEW younger talents so perhaps, when their contracts are up, they might consider WWE an option that they wouldn’t have before. I think if Cody does end up back in WWE, a lot of younger talent will follow. Not right away, but down the road.

Did Cody leave AEW because he was scared of Danhausen?

That’s explains everything. Cody must have had a backstage encounter with the very evil Danhausen and was cursed. Thus, Cody is doomed to return to the WWE and his former guise as Stardust. Very evil, very nice. Damn that Danhausen.

Which match would toy rather see at Wrestlemania? Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Kevin Owens or Triple H versus Cody Rhodes?

Why not both? I’m not sure what HHH’s health status is at the moment, but if he’s able and wants to do it, a match between him and Cody, especially considering the past three years, would be off the charts. And I’ve already given my thoughts about an Austin versus Owens match. I’ll take either, but I would love to see both. Book it, Vince.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions you may have are welcome and very much appreciated. Until the next time, take care and be good. I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
