Greetings my friends. I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July. And now, it’s time to get back to business with two editions of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A coming up today. I’ve been slack and the questions have piled up. So are you ready? Let’s do this.

What are your views on promos that are “in bad taste” such as Christian’s promo on Jungle Boy? Even if all involved agree, are they necessary?

Are they a little rough? Absolutely. But this isn’t the 70s or 80s where just saying that “I’ll kick your butt!” gets heat. It’s a lot rougher world out there now and to get real heat, real emotions and real life are no longer taboo or out of line. Remember when CM Punk got covered in the ashes of Paul Bearer ten years ago in WWE? Today, that wouldn’t even raise an eyebrow. Bad taste promos, if kept few and far between, are a necessary evil in today’s wrestling world and work quite well. I don’t want every promo to be wishing death on someone, but they can be and are effective if done correctly and less is more.

After the Tag Team split of the Street Profits, should Montez Ford be a face or heel?

If and when they split, I think Ford would make a better heel for the feud. He just has that face that says he can be an ass if required, and I think he’s a better talker too of the two. Let Ford go heel while keeping Dawkins as the face and it would work the best in my opinion.

Assuming health, who’s return would be bigger for AEW, Omega, or Punk?

Punk. He’s the AEW World Champion and when he returns, we’ll be getting matches with him and Moxley, which should be damn good. When Omega returns, who is he going to fight? It’s pretty up in the air as to what would be the best way to use him and I personally find him annoying. So definitely Punk is the bigger return in my eyes.

With the amount of AEW guys suffering injuries, & the hole that’s appearing in their roster (despite increasing opportunities for others), is there something to be said for the safe WWE style that allows people to work that crazy schedule & not pick up as many injuries?

Say what you will about the WWE style, but they work a busier schedule in the ring and more matches, but tend to have far fewer injuries as a whole. AEW needs someone to step up and teach the talent how to actually wrestle, to slow down and tell a story rather than just do high-spot after high spot. When it comes to wrestling, less is more and if you slow down and tell a story, you get better matches and more fan interest than just running around the ring at 100 miles per hour. Way fewer injuries as well. AEW doesn’t need to adapt the WWE style so much as just slow down and wrestle smarter. WWE has figured that out. AEW needs to as well.

Will Tony Khan ever have a match? Could the MJF thing lead to one? He probably shouldn’t but it must be mega tempting for a huge wrestling fan with some of the best wrestlers under his employment.

I hope that Khan never gives in to the temptation and tries to have a match, but we’ve seen it happen too many times with the entire McMahon family, Vince Russo, Eric Bischoff, Dixie Carter, and others. It’ll happen sooner or later. I just hope it’s way later.

Thoughts on the possibility of Sami Zayn winning Money in the Bank, and cashing in on Roman Reigns after the main event of Summerslam?

Well, Money In The Bank was a few days ago and Sami didn’t win. I would have loved to see it happen and I would love to see Sami win either the WWE or Universal Championship at some point. He’s the perfect heel and a damn good performer. He deserves it.

If Flair survives his retirement match. Should he do a retirement tour in GCW? Flair v the invisible Man?

I hope that after this debacle coming up in August, that Flair gets it out of his system and never steps into the ring to attempt to wrestle again. So a retirement tour? Hell no, although the thought of Flair wrestling the Invisible Man does make me chuckle a bit. But after this match coming up, no more matches for Flair, ever.

Eddie Kingston joins the JAS. Is this the best swerve ever?

It definitely would be a swerve that no one sees coming. I hope it never happens, but it would be a big swerve.

Does Bianca Belair make it to the next Wrestlemania as Women’s Champion?

I think we’ll see her drop the belt sometime between now and Mania, only to regain it again before the big show happens. Maybe go back and forth with Becky a few times, switching the title, but she’ll most definitely be in the Women’s title match at Mania, barring injury.

What do you think is missing from today’s wrestling that previous must-see wrestling had?

Emotions and real heat. Everything is so scripted and generic, I want to see real characters, real personalities, and real emotion and energy in the promos. That’s one thing that AEW does better than WWE. The promos are hit or miss and the matches are more of a trainwreck mess as a whole, but the energy and emotion in AEW are far more realistic than anything WWE does. WWE needs to end the scripting promos and characters and let the wrestlers be more of themselves. It would improve the product a great deal.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions you may have are very welcome and appreciated. Follow me on Twitter at @Doug28352 and I’ll follow back. And with that, I’m out of here. Take care and be good, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
