Tossing Salt Presents:
Impact Wrestling Bound For Glory 2022
Thoughts & Predictions
October 7, 2022
DougMaynard.com
Tonight, in Albany, New York, Impact Wrestling will present its annual Bound For Glory pay-per-view event. And of course, that means it’s Prediction Time. Let’s do this.
Impact Wrestling Champion Josh Alexander vs. Eddie Edwards.
Josh Alexander has been on a roll as of late and looking great. Edwards is always a good talent, but I just can’t see him as the champ right now. Better to keep that belt right where it is.
Winner and STILL Impact Wrestling Champion: Josh Alexander
Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace vs. Masha Slamovich.
I’ll be honest here. I haven’t much cared for Grace since she made those stupid comments about Chris Benoit a few months ago. She’s okay in the ring, but as her Twitter remarks seem to prove, she doesn’t think before she talks sometimes. Let’s see a new Champion.
Winner and NEW Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion: Masha Slamovich.
Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions The OGK vs. The Motor City Machine Guns.
Never bet against Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. After a brief appearance in AEW which bombed terribly and did not make them look well at all, the MCMG team is back at Impact where they belong. They have something to prove.
Winners and NEW Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions: The Motor City Machine Guns
Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion Mike Bailey vs. Frankie Kazarian.
When was the last time Frankie K. won a match? He’s a damn good wrestler, good on the mic, and fun to watch, but unfortunately, he’s been in quite the slump for quite a while. I don’t think that’s changing here.
Winner and STILL Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion: Mike Bailey
Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champions Chelsea Green & Deonna Purrazzo vs. Jessika & Taya Valkyrie with Rosemary.
Taya Valkyrie aligned with Rosemary just seems weird to me, but then again, anyone trusting Chelsea Green as their tag team partner seems equally as weird in my eyes. This should be a good match because all of these ladies can go and go hard. They’re damn good wrestlers. I don’t see a title switch happening here. Not yet anyhow.
Winners and STILL Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champions: Chelsea Green & Deonna Purrazzo.
Call Your Shot Gauntlet – PCO, Rich Swann, Heath Miller, Gisele Shaw, Bhupinder Gujjar, Steve Maclin, Moose, Bobby Fish, Savannah Evans, Joe Hendry, Eric Young, Sami Callihan, Killer Kelly, Tasha Steelz and more competing.
Looking at all these names, I’m thinking that Eric Young or Steve Maclin are the ones to watch. That’s my informed logic and brain thinking. But my heart says, Heath Miller. After all, he’s got kids, plus he’s the One Man Band, baby! Let’s go with that.
Winner: Heath Miller
Raven will be inducted into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame.
And good for him because he’s definitely a talented legend of our business and one hell of an unforgettable character. From all of us here at DougMaynard.com, congratulations to Raven.
Mia Yim vs. Mickie James.
Mickie James is on what seems to be a farewell tour and nearing the end of a great career. No way she should lose here. Mia Yim is an amazing talent, but Mickie is pure country and should be the one to take that trip to the pay window if you will.
Winner: Mickie James
Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion Brian Myers’ open challenge.
Since Chelsea Green is in the building, is her husband, Matt Cardona far behind? Matt was on Twitter a few days ago talking about getting back some of the gold he was forced to vacate due to his injuries and well, he is a former Digital Media Champion, right? And yes, I know that Myers is his best friend and business partner, but business is business, right? It’s not personal until it is. So look for Cardona to show up and challenge for the belt. And what the hell, let’s have Nick Aldis show up and do it too. And then Cardona does the right thing, lays out Aldis, and supports his bro as Myers takes advantage and gets a win. Fantasy booking at its best, but it sounds good to me.
Winner and STILL Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion: Brian Myers.
And there you go. My predictions? Am I right? Am I wrong? Should I lay off the day drinking? Let me know what you think. All comments, thoughts, or questions you may have are welcome and very appreciated. And with that, I’m out of here. Check out Impact Wrestling’s Bound For Glory tonight if you get the chance. Take care and I’ll see you at the matches.
