Tossing Salt Presents:
WWE Survivor Series
Thoughts & Predictions
November 24, 2022
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends who celebrate and Happy Thursday to the rest of you who don’t as well. I just remembered that coming up on Saturday, from Boston, MA is the WWE Survivor Series. A big shout out to Eric, an associate of mine from the SMF Cyberspace Podcasts, a native New Englander, and just a damn cool guy. Sexy as hell too, but damn, he’s straight. sighs Now, what was I saying? Survivor Series is Saturday on Peacock and the WWE Network. Are you ready for some predictions?
Wargames: Bianca Belair & Alexa Bliss & Asuka & Mia Yim & a final competitor to be announced vs. Bayley & Nikki Cross & Dakota Kai & IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley.
The fifth member will be announced on Smackdown Friday night, and while the storylines suggest that it should be Dana Brooke, some new possibilities have come to mind. Becky Lynch is scheduled to be in Boston this weekend and since she was a part of the original formation of Damage CTRL. it makes sense to have her as the fifth person. Charlotte hasn’t been around in a while, so she’s a strong possibility as well. And Sasha Banks is from Boston, so that makes three. With these possibilities, Dana Brooke would be a big letdown if she was the fifth person. As for who wins, Team Bayley seems to have had the upper hand in more encounters than Team Bianca during the build, leading up to this match. With that in mind, Team Bianca should get the win.
Winners: Team Bianca: Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Mia Yim, and their fifth person.
Wargames: WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns & Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos & Sami Zayn & Solo Sikoa vs. Drew McIntyre & The Brawling Brutes & Kevin Owens.
Go back and watch the War Games match from Wrestle War 1992 featuring Sting’s Squadron versus The Dangerous Alliance. In that match, a miscalculation by Larry Zbyszko left Bobby Eaton open to being forced to submit after hitting the cable where the turnbuckle had been exposed. Because of this, The Alliance lost and Zbyszko caught the blame and was fired from the Alliance. Now, fast forward to 2022. Imagine the Bloodline is in control and Sami makes a slight mistake that leaves Jimmy Uso open to be defeated and the Bloodline loses. Just like Zbyszko thirty years ago, Zayn is blamed for the loss. It’s a classic story that would work so well in the current Bloodline angle. Heyman was part of the first War Games match where this was the story and he’s right there, working this match as well. Sounds like a plan to me.
Winners: Drew McIntyre, The Brawling Brutes, and Kevin Owens.
WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Shotzi.
Do I even need to say who I think will win? Shotzi might get one or two moments to shine, but the outcome is not in any doubt.
Winner and STILL Smackdown Women’s Champion: Ronda Rousey
WWE United States Champion Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Austin Theory.
Look for Lashley to destroy and dominate. Look for Seth to cackle and scheme and do all sorts of crazy things. Look for Theory to show off more of that newfound ruthlessness and determination. And I expect to see Lashley be on the verge of winning the title when Theory ruins things for him. In the chaos, Seth takes advantage to hit the stomp on Lashley and keep his belt. And the craziness continues.
Winner and STILL United States Champion: Seth Rollins
AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor.
With both Rhea and Mia busy as part of the WarGames matches, the sides should be pretty balanced with The Good Brothers and The Judgement Day all at ringside to counter each other while Finn and AJ fight in the ring. This one could go either way. The Judgement Day won at Crown Jewel so let’s give this one to the O.C.
Winner: AJ Styles
And I guess that’s got it all covered, at least with the matches that have been announced so far. It wouldn’t surprise me to see WWE add another match at the last minute on Smackdown tomorrow night, but if they do, I’ll come back and add it to this column. And if not, then I won’t.
My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, or any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, I bid you a fond farewell for today. I have to go finish cooking. Until the next time, take care and be good. I’ll see you at the matches.
