Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Jordynne Grace, GUNTHER, Mike Rotundo & More

It’s six in the morning.
It’ll probably be raining all day.
I should go back to bed.
But instead, I’ll do the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A.
A little bad poetry to start the show and pay homage to The Genius, Leaping Lanny Poffo, who passed away a few days ago. Condolences to the friends and family of an amazing talent. RIP Lanny. Now let’s do the Q&A.
How amazing would Willie Mack and Keith Lee teaming up be?
They’re both big and black, but otherwise, I don’t see anything in common between the two. If this was an earlier era of wrestling, I could see a tag team being formed, but for 2023, it just doesn’t work or click for me. Two talented guys with two distinct styles or characters. I don’t see a tag team there.
If you were to take any wrestler from any time, in their prime to strive in today’s WWE, who would it be?
How about the “Handsome Half-Breed”, Gino Hernandez. One of the best heels from the Texas territories back in the day, Gino would work so well in today’s WWE. He was the real-life character that Austin Theory tries so hard to be, but the heat was real. Put Gino, in the early 80s, with Baby Doll and Gary Hart, also of that era, in today’s WWE and he’d be headlining Wrestlemania within a year, easily, as the WWE Champion.
All the title drama and booking Cody or Sami – what’s to stop Trips from walking down the ramp and saying “the titles are split and have to be defended separately”?
Who’s to say that he won’t do that? Or maybe have Adam Pearce do that? It is a possibility, especially with The Elimination Chamber coming up in a few weeks, but it’s also kind of anti-climatic booking. Better scenarios would be either someone pins Roman, but Heyman reveals that the contract for the match was only for one title and not both, thus splitting up the titles, or maybe a ladder match where the end comes and Roman and his opponent are fighting at the top of the ladder and both have their hands on the belts. They both fall from the ladder and each one has a belt when they fall. Thus, the belts are split up once more and we have two champions. Either would be better than HHH just proclaiming a split.
Thoughts on Jordynne Grace losing the Last Rodeo to Mickie James?
If Jordynne had won the match, then Mickie James would be retired and finished wrestling due to the stipulation of the match, title versus career. No one is ready to see Mickie retire yes, so thus, she won and Jordynne took the loss.
Why does Gunther insist on having “Ring General” on his backside? Why?
That’s his nickname so why shouldn’t he have those words on his trunks? Besides, are you going to tell him to change it? I don’t think so. I know I’m not.
Do you think AEW has dropped the ball on Wardlow?
AEW has dropped the ball with Wardlow just as they have so many talents in the company. Too many bodies in the locker room and a fan-boy booker who doesn’t know what he’s doing and people end up getting lost in the shuffle and falling in between the cracks, just as what has happened to Wardlow.
The Road Warriors versus Superstar Billy Graham & Harley Race. Who wins?
Harley and Graham would win any singles matches against Animal or Hawk, but when it comes to a tag team event, The legendary Legion of Doom would surely take home the win. Oooh, what a rush! The Road Warriors win.
Does Mike Rotundo belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
Rotundo has had an amazing career in the NWA, WCW, and WWE, winning gold multiple times and in the process, has created multiple numbers of characters that all stood out and made an impact. And when all of that is factored in, plus that his father-in-law is a Hall of Famer, his brother-in-law is a Hall of Famer, and one of his two sons, possibly both at some point, are potential Hall of Famers, he belongs just by association. For the role of Irwin R. Schyster alone, he belongs. When the rest of his career is factored in, he should be a first-ballot lock.
Jake Roberts said recently that Tony Khan is “much wiser” about the wrestling business than Vince McMahon. Agree or disagree?
I’m wondering if maybe Jake should be drug tested. He’s a legendary performer and a very smart guy, but comments like that make me wonder if he’s had a relapse. Just kidding. Jake is looking to make some headlines and be talked about, plus Tony Khan is his employer and gives him a check every two weeks for essentially doing nothing. Jake is kissing up his boss, nothing else. Nothing to see here. Just move along.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are very welcome and appreciated. And with that, I’m out of here. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
