Thoughts & Predictions

Impact Wrestling returns to PPV this Friday for Sacrifice 2023 from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and you know what that means. It’s time for a few quick predictions. Let’s do this.
Impact Champion Josh Alexander & Rich Swann & Frankie Kazarian vs. KUSHIDA & Motor City Machine Guns.
I see the champion in a multi-man match as the main event and my first thought is why? Swann and Kazarian should be going after the title and not teaming with the champion. Also, I thought that the Motor City Machine Guns were babyfaces. Hell, I’m confused and don’t know what is going on. I think we’ll see a turn as either Swann or Kazarian will pull a double cross on Alexander and secure themselves a future title opportunity. And after Alexander is laid out, the MCMG & KUSHIDA team will take advantage and get the victory.
Winners: KUSHIDA & The Motor City Machine Guns.
Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James vs. Jordynne Grace.
Is Mickie still doing the thing where her career is on the line if she loses? I haven’t been keeping up so I don’t know for sure. I don’t see any stipulations mentioned with this match so I’ll just assume it’s a regular title match. And if that’s the case, look for a new champion in Jordynne Grace.
Update: This match has been cancelled due to an injury to Mickie James and the status of the Knockouts Championship will be addressed at the PPV, most likely with with Mickie vacating the title and Grace fighting someone else to crown a new champion. That’s my guess anyhow, but we’ll find out for sure at the PPV. Regardless of whatever Impact decides, I still think that Grace will be leaving the show with a title belt in her bag.
Winner and NEW Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion: Jordynne Grace
X-Division Champion Trey Miguel vs. an opponent to be named.
I don’t know who the opponent will be, but I’ll come back and update this post when the name is revealed. But it doesn’t matter who the challenger is because the results will be the same.
Update: So the mystery opponent is former WWE talent Lince Dorado. This is a big signing for Impact Wrestling and I’m sure that Dorado will look great, give one helluva good fight and take Miguel to the limit. Buf that being said, that X-Division title still isn’t changing hands. Trey Miguel is winning and keeping that title around his waist.
Winner and STILL X-Division Champion: Trey Miguel
Impact Tag Team Champions Bullet Club vs. TMDK.
It’s Chris Bey & Ace Austin, the Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions, defending against the New Japan team of Sahne Haste & Bad Dude Tito, aka TMDK. I know nothing at all about the challengers, but they’re supposed to be good, which I’m inclined to believe or else they wouldn’t be flying 3/4 across the world to wrestle on a PPV event. Let’s just say that the champions retain for this match.
Winners & Still Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions: The Bullet Club (Chris Bey & Ace Austin).
Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry vs. Brian Myers.
Hendry is a big dude and always impressive every time he steps into that ring, but my gut is saying Myers is planning on taking that title home on Friday night. We’re going to see a new champion.
Winner and NEW Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion: Brian Myers
Tommy Dreamer vs. Bully Ray in a Busted Open match.
I didn’t even know that Tommy Dreamer was still active in the ring, but I guess this is a kind of special match with another ECW Original, two older guys giving the Impact Wrestling roster a lesson in what a wrestling match should look like. This one will be stiff and brutal, a true Pier Six Brawl, but we all know who will be bleeding first and who the winner will be. Expect to see Dreamer with the Crimson mask and Bully Ray to take that trip to the pay window, if you will.
Winner: Bully Ray
Deonna Purrazzo vs. Gisele Shaw.
I like Shaw and she’s been getting better every single time she steps into that ring, but Purrazzo is a woman who will not be beaten easily. Impact Wrestling is her ring and her show. Shaw will end up eating a loss as Purrazzo fights her way to one more win.
Winner: Deonna Purrazzo
Speedball Mike Bailey vs. Jonathan Gresham.
Former ROH Champion Jonathan Gresham is a very talented guy in that ring, but Bailey has been on a roll as of late and I think he’s being looked at by many as the future of Impact Wrestling. I think Bailey should get the win here.
Winner: Speedball Mike Bailey
PCO vs. Kenny King.
Two veterans who can give 150% and really go as needed, this should be an excellent match. I expect it will be the opener to get the crowd going and set the tone for the rest of the evening. As for who the winner will be, my gut is saying Kenny King and the gut is rarely wrong.
Winner: Kenny King
And there you go with my predictions for Impact Wrestling Sacrifice 2023, taking place tomorrow night on pay-per-view. Am I right? Am I wrong? We’ll find out tomorrow night.
So what are your predictions? Let me know with any thoughts, comments, or questions you might have. And with that, it’s time to call it a night. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
