Let’s talk about professional wrestling. You have the questions and I have the answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s go.
Assuming Rollins wins at Night of Champions, who should be the first challenger?
I’d like to see a series with Seth versus Finn Balor. That would be fun to see. Seth versus Edge maybe? Also, Seth versus Bobby Lashley could be interesting as well.
Do you guys think that AEW’s lack of success in the tv ratings and the number of tickets still available for Double or Nothing is indicative that MJF isn’t able of being a top draw or are there other factors causing it that’s out of his control?
The problem isn’t MJF, but other factors such as bad booking, lack of storytelling, and a lack of consistency with the product. In other words, Tony Khan. He needs to hire a competent booker and just sign the checks.
Ole Anderson & Stan Hansen versus Ted DiBiase & Dr. Death Steve Williams. Who wins?
My money would always be on Ole & Stan.
RVD is starting a podcast. Will you listen? Thoughts?
I’ll give it a listen for an episode or two, but honestly, there are already far too many podcasts out there and I already listen to Cornette, Dutch, and Konnan/Disco. I’ll give it a chance, but unless it’s really good from the start, I doubt I’ll be a regular listener.
Who was the best or should it be the “Most Helpful” valet? I’m torn between Chyna and Baby Doll.
Both Chyna and Baby Doll are good choices, although the argument could be made that Chyna was far more than a valet. Baby Doll is a great choice and as a matter of fact, I’ll be seeing her tomorrow night at a show here in Laurinburg, NC. But the best? Missy Hyatt comes to mind of course, but I’ll give that title to Nancy Benoit, better known as Woman.
Does Captain Redneck Dick Murdoch belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
For his career and the impact he made in professional wrestling, having Dick Murdoch as part of any wrestling Hall of Fame is essentially a no-brainer, but it will never happen. Allegedly, Murdoch had ties early in his career with the KKK. Is it true? Who knows for sure, but just the speculation will be enough to keep Murdoch blacklisted from any Hall of Fame inductions. That’s the world we live in today.
Harley Race, The Fabulous Moolah, and Nick Bockwinkle versus Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair, and MJF. Who wins?
Legends against future legends. This would be an interesting match. Moolah couldn’t match up against Charlotte very well, but Harley and Nick versus Roman and MJF would work very nicely. I think the veteran team of the NWA, AWA, and Women’s Champion would get the victory here with Harley pinning MJF.
Do you think Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns could become great Hollywood actors someday?
Seth allegedly has a role in the next Captain America movie and Roman has gotten so much better as a performer in the past few years, I can easily see both of them making the transition to Hollywood when their wrestling days wind down and have a second career in movies and television.
Assuming WCW of the 90s was an option, what current stars of today’s WWE would jump ship if they had the opportunity?
Of the current roster, I think Bray Wyatt would have been among the first to try out the greener waters of WCW, as would have Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, Bo Dallas, and Bronson Reed. For the money involved, Brock Lesnar would have definitely spoken with the WCW management. Also, most likely if WCW had been an option rather than WWE, I think Cody Rhodes would have ventured in that direction as a homecoming of sorts rather than coming back to WWE when his AEW deal expired.
It looks as if AEW and CM Punk are having issues again, this time being over Ace Steele and his role as part of AEW. Thoughts?
This is all based on reporting by Meltzer so it has to be taken with a grain of salt. The alleged story is that AEW was bringing Ace Steele, the long-time friend and confidant of CM Punk back, but have changed their minds and Punk is rightfully hot about it, especially since The Elite have their friends working for the company, but Punk is being denied the same opportunity with Steele, who is far more valuable than any of Kenny’s stooges no matter how you try to rationalize things. It all boils down to Tony Khan is not a leader and can’t make a decision and stick with it. He needs Punk but doesn’t want to make Kenny and the MVPs mad or upset, and thus, chaos ensues and no one is sure of anything as a result. At this point, who knows if Punk will be back or not? I guess we’ll find out in Chicago when the new show debuts, but it’s looking less and less likely every day.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and stay well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
